Great course!
As always Potomac Shores was in great shape, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the Grill Room was awesome! Potomac Shores always provides a good challenge and a great round of golf!
Great course. Had cart issues.
Potomac Shores is one of my favorite courses. Normally I would rate 5 stars but I have concerns regarding the golf carts.
Maybe I’m just unlucky but I had issues the weekend prior (battery died) too. This time I had a flat tire. We had to leave the cart on hole 6 and walked the next 3 holes.
I like walking but when the holes are pretty spread out it’s a pain.
Quick morning round
Went off @ 7:30 am, played in under 4 hours. Could have been quicker as we waited a bit on the 3-some in front of us, but nothing to complain about. Course is in great shape, but the greens were a bit slow, which was disappointing.
Always enjoy playing here. Will be back.
Already planning my next tee time…
Absolutely blown away by this course. Without a doubt one of the best courses in the entire region. I live in the Arlington area and wouldn’t hesitate making drive down 95 to play here
Military discount
Should continue the military discount 7days a week
Wow is all.
From the first tee starter AJ, everything about this course was A+. The facilities, the practice area, the tee boxes; I found a hard time finding anything wrong with my round except for the fact it’s a very challenging course. Did not have a flat lie all day, hills for days. Must play if you’re in the area.
Fairways and greens were immaculate even after small punching
One of NOVA’s Best Kept Secrets
Fairways are in fantastic shape! Very fair test without being overly long!
Slow and hot
Today I was paired with a family in which no one could legitimately hit the ball. I waited on them to hit three shots for every one of mine. When I arrived at the first tee, there were two foursomes who had yet teed off. I watched both of the groups in front of me literally take 45 minutes to play the first two holes. Though we started out on a 9 hour round pace, we managed to "speed" up to a 6 hour round pace by the time we made the turn to the back nine. All told, it took 5 hours of waiting and watching the groups in front of me slog their way around the course shot by painstaking shot. The coupe de grace of the day was watching EACH one of the foursome in front of me take two tee shots off the 18th tee as my round completely disintegrated. I saw a "ranger" type dude once on the sixth hole and his presence did nothing to improve the pace of play. If I wasn't waiting 10-15 minutes on each shot in 90+ degree heat, I would have enjoyed today a lot better. Be aware that a bunch of people who think they can play golf call this course home. For a single-digit handicapper like myself, it was excruciating trying to keep my concentration and rhythm.
WOW! Perfect Condition! Best course we played all year!
WOW! Played today 6/18/2021 and it is in PERFECT CONDITION and is an AMAZING Golf Course! 10 out of 10! The Arlington Seniors Golf Club played here 2 times this week and everyone truly enjoyed it! Craig "The Club Pro" is super nice and very helpful, too! We will be back for sure!

Awesome!
Course is beautiful. Fairways are absolutely immaculate. Greens are fast, but true. Tee boxes are nice, just recently aerated, which was odd. One of the most beautiful courses in the area, definitely the best public course around quality wise. Could use a Marshall driving around, was backed up 3 groups deep on a few holes. Will definitely play again!
Course is in great shape
Course is in great shape. But they really need to keep the driving range up and operational
almost back to great condition
It's almost back to superb conditions. The greens needed mowing and rolling. But great to see much of the bare spots and fairways have returned to the original condition. I don't like the moving the old 18th hole to be 16th hole. The new 18th is a tough finishing hole with that big barranca...just make sure you play the appropriate tee for your driving length...played with people who just didn't have the length to play the gold tees ad finally moved up near the end of round. Great elevation changes and wide fairways...as expected the new 16th is a bit easier with the bunker changes. Townhouses everywhere on 16.....I think next to Laurel hills the best range in the area....just needs a better chipping area....and yes it's pricey...look for deals and afternoon rates...great clubhouse and wonderful veranda to eat on or post round drinks.
