Golfer Reviews
Pristine, undeveloped and a great layout!!!
Wonderful take. Condition of course is great. Greens were running at a good pace. Fairways.. carpets (really). This course is a good value especially now that it’s mostly desert and undeveloped yet.
Traveled down from Glendale and glad I did.
I’ll be back here.
I’m a 13 handicap played it at 6500 yards. Loved it. Only saw twosomes out there so we played in three hours and fifty minutes.
WOW
Great course. Great condition. Will definitely play again . Looked a little intimidating as you we drove up but staff was superb. Gave us a run down on what to expect . Greens are as true as you can get and very quick . Putt putt putt . This course is very player friendly. A must play whether your a low mid or high handicapper. Enjoy the view
Great course.
First time I golfed this course. Will be going back for many many more. Has to be in my top 10 for nicest courses ever. Great condition. friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Can’t wait to go back
Excellent shape, good value
Course is in great shape. Greens are a little fast but smooth and true. It was just over a 4 hour round. Fun layout wide fairways
Great track
The course was in very nice shap. They don’t over seed the rough and being it was the end of November the rough was turning brown. One complaint would be there were no cups for the water they supplied on every other hole.
Very fast greens.
Very fun and wide open. The starter told us the greens were fast and he wasn’t joking. Decent price for this time of year and it seems the regulars take good care of it- bunkers raked, divots sanded and ball marks fixed.
Somewhat disappointed....!
Based on other reviews, my wife and I decided to take the one hour drive from Scottsdale and see what all the fuss was about. We were familiar with the Founders Course and the reviews suggested Victory was better. What we found was a course with huge wide fairways that are extremely forgiving, in excellent condition but without a distinctive personality. What I mean by that is the front nine is well laid out with lots of risk/reward type holes (very Fazio like!) and quite enjoyable. Designers with the name 'Tom' seem to think alike!! When you make the turn and by the 12th hole we found ourselves asking "who designed the back nine"? It has an entirely different feel to it. Not at all like the front nine. It seemed that the objective was to make the back as 'quirky' as possible. The layout of the holes makes no sense at all. The only hole worth positive mention is the 18th, which is one of the most picturesque closing holes in memory, so thumbs up for that Tom..!
Also, this course is not very female friendly in terms of 'facilities'. There is only one washroom per nine and no natural cover where a woman can relieve herself. Tom must be married to a camel because most women need to 'go' more often than twice in a four hour span!
Conclusion, it's a long way to drive for an average experience. The positive was getting to play with a very nice couple of Sweden. She was a 'sweetie'...!
Tough course, but well taken care of...
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Pace of play was great even though it was Saturday. Pin placement was challenging as many greens undulate. Carts have ice chests and ball washers. No GPS. This course also did not come up on my Callaway GPS watch but it is only a couple years old. Housing lots are not filled up yet so lots of open space and some pretty nice views. I live in metro Phoenix, but worth the drive.
Worthwhile only with discounted price.
The course is in very good condition, it’s unbelievable how they built it in these granite mountains, but the holes are not all that interesting and scenic for the full price they charge. The signs are not real visible and you could easily make the mistake of going to the Verrado original course when the Liberty course is nearby in a different place up the mountain. The greens were in good condition but were very difficult to read. The carry from the white tees was quite far but playable. The front green tees I work very playable for women and seniors.
