Verrado Golf Club - Victory Course

One of the top courses in Az! 16,17, & 18 are 3 of my favorite holes in golf. The scenery, the layout and the great course maintenance is unprecedented! If you have a chance to play don’t miss out

This is a sad place for golf.

We’ll start at the end.

There’s a friendly and efficient waitress at the grill.

Covered the entire place by herself and did it with a smile.

She almost made me forget;

1. The cart girl we saw on #2 but never caught sight of again until #13. Oh, when we did see her, she drove right by.

She hit the brakes on #17 after we employed stopsticks from the State Patrol. With her earbuds firmly in place, she claimed to have never seen us.

She did tell us people complained about the greens.

2. The greens

Practice green-Think WeKoPa.

The 18 greens on the course-Think Plinko, where you lose over and over again.

3. Design

A few blind tee shots.

And a few other blind tee shots which lead to equally blind second shots.

A couple of strange features, like a rock wall in the middle of a short par four. Rock walls in Scotland, cool. Not so hot in Buckeye, AZ.

I’m not coming back ever again. Unless it’s for a burger.

Poor sight lines everywhere. Rarely know the best place to hit tee shot. Massive construction continues. Dirt and dust everywhere. Played the course when it first opened years ago. At the time there were no homes built yet. After 5-6 years course isn’t any better.

Played both courses. Found I liked the Founders better. Victory had a few "tricky" holes with blind tee shots or blind approaches to green. Slowed the round down just trying to figure out where to go.

Founders is more established course. Found it fun to play, and will return.

Beautiful layout. Nice pace of play. Some greens were a little rough…big patches of dead grass. Overall, a good golfing experience.

Been playing Verrado for 6 years annually. This was worst ever round 5 hr 45 min

No help from Marshall after call to clubhouse

Disappointed in Oregon

I live in Victory and cannot imagine inviting friends to play here. Dry, patchy fairways, and ridiculously poor greens. Avoid. Can play for half the price at Corte Bella or Westbrook, with conditions twice as good. So disappointing.

Garbage! Nothing about the course matters in my opinion when the round takes more than 5 hours. Thanks for saving me from ever making the hour long drive again!

Surprised how a trip back to Verrado can be so disappointing. Pace of play was 5jr

45 min. Horrible. No help from Pro Shop.

Called on 11th tee. after 3 hrs and 20 min thru 10'holes. No help

Green Were bumpy grainy and spotty with whst seemed like sandy fungus.

But there are some lovely views.

Had a great time playing this course! My wife and I played with Mary and Anne. Local legends who just enjoyed playing golf and having fun. Some greens were a little rough.

No sand in bunkers. Greens are the worst I’ve ever seen them. The greens look like they have a disease, very bumpy, spotty and not consistent. Played Sun city course in better shape. Played here all the time and right now it’s in the worst shape. Fix the course or don’t charge $100 to play here. 5 groups on hole 17. Played a 5 hour round in the heat. No marshal to speed things up. Course has to fix these issues. Will not play here again.

5 hours and 5 minutes. First and last time I'll ever play here. Ridiculous pace of play. Grow a set and kick slow groups off or make them skip holes. Catering to the 10% who will likely never play the course again is idiotic. Course was in good shape, if it matters, so if you're someone who doesn't mind possibly sitting on a course for over 5 hours...have at it.

Verado - Thanks for saving me the time and money from ever coming back out to play.

Great and interesting layout. Love the hole designs. Bunkers had no sand and were virtually unplayable. Greens were very bumpy and didn’t roll well. Lots of comfy ruction going on. Some great holes.

First time playing this course. It was everything I wanted out of a desert course. Plenty of tee boxes to give options for all different players. Fairways were generally wide and forgiving. Greens were fast (10.5) but very smooth.

Will definitely play here when I’m back in town.
