Great course. Excellent conditions
Great time playing. Course is looking great and the greens are beginning to hold shots. Great deal to play and got a hat.
Lakewood National Golf Club
1:18 tee time w/ wife & buddy for $26.25/ea thru Golfnow Hot Deal. It was a pleasure playing a dry course. Has a fun Linx style layout. Very scenic. Tee boxes, fairways, & greens plush. Greens rolling true & fast. Course just opened January this year & everything is new. Pro shop immaculate & well stocked. Range blass were provided. Battery powered cart w/ windshield , rain cover in back, & GPS. Bathrooms on course clean. Water & ice available @ bathrooms on course. Very helpful & cheery cart girl. Was worth the hour & half ride. Will play again especially with the great Hot Deal price.

Great Course
The course was in good shape! If you get a chance to play here do. Just remember to be below the hole on most of the greens or you'll probably roll off the back! It's a GREAT new course!!!
A course that is become ready for less then a year. It looks and plays great. Well mantaind and great greens (10).
Must play it!
Fun course. In great shape
I'm visiting from out of town so probably won't play again but I sure would if I could.
Fun, forgiving layout. Extremely well marked although the cart GPS takes care of it, too. Brand new course, but all is in place.
Play this course if you get the chance, especially if you get a great deal off of Internet like I did.
A top course in Sarasota area
This is a must play course for anyone visiting the area. Billed as the last course that Arnold Palmer designed, its a super layout that will get better with time. Large, mounded greens are the design feature so its important to follow the GPS guide and hit to the proper quadrant of the green. The front nine features three par 3s, three par 4s, and three par 5s while the back is the more traditional two, five, two with a great par 5 finishing hole. Nice practice facility to warm-up on. Once the clubhouse is complete this will be an outstanding facility.
pace of play
Off price weekend because of aeration so course was busy. Many couples out playing in twosomes on a Sunday morning. Need to do a better job of scheduling. After a 2:45 front 9 , I left.
Best course in sarasota
This is my new favorite course to play!! Best course from Venice to Tampa!!! I know, I have played them all... This is a must play!!!
New Course is a breath of Fresh Air
What a treat. This course is less than a year old is probably in my TOP 5 of local courses to play. The layout is interesting (3 par 3's and 3 par 5's on the front). The course is so different then other local courses as there is a lot of undulation in the fairways and the greens.
2 holes really get your attention. #8 is a ~175 yd Par 3 with a green that is 60 yards from front to back. #14 a reachable Par 4 for the longer hitters depending on where the pin is.
If you can play it, do so. Well worth it.
Aerating Greens
Wasn't informed prebooking or during check in time.
Would have passed as they were not in putting condition.
Loved the course and layout.
Great layout with punched greens
This was my fourth time at this course and it's always a pleasure although the best feature is usually the complex, fast and demanding greens which on this occasion had just been punched and were bumpy and sandy. Still, the varied shot values and rolling terrain make it an outstanding value at the crazy low Golfnow rate.
Beautiful but disorganized
Great course but 1&10 start and end 1/2 mi from clubhouse. Tees on scorecard have names not colors. Tees have colors not names? Go figure. No ball washers anywhere. Many cart path only holes. Trouble being cart path too low to see where your ball is! *down Cart shuts down. No starter or ranger. D be great. o have bev cart. Could. And should be great.
Great Course
This course was great. The conditions were perfect. Greens were fast and true. So far this is the best course I have played in the area.
Excellent course
It's brand new so the vegetation is small and the ground is hard but it is wide open. The fairways and greens undulate like few other courses in the area which makes it very interesting. Greens are in great shape, pretty fast, and fun and challenging.
5 star course...generous landing area from tees...very challenging greens.......greens rolled beautifully. Will play there again....many times
Course in great condition
Although I recommend this course and really can't say anything bad about it, I wouldn't play it again. It was in beautiful condition but I just didn't enjoy playing it. They wouldn't let you drive close enough to the greens. Since I was using the GPS on the cart, I never knew how far away I was. As a woman, I can't get on the green the same as guys do. They can get on the green further away so this probably wouldn't be an issue for them. Also there were climbs to get to the tee box for women. No steps and some didn't have openings to the forward tee areas through the plantings. You need to be very mobile playing this course. The greens were faster than I like, so putting was not fun either. You had to think about where to place your shot. My husband thought this made the course difficult too. It was a typical Florida course that tends to be boring . They did move lots of dirt to try to make mounds etc, but still a flat Florida course.
I just didn't have fun playing it. Hope others enjoy it more. Was a great value for the money.
Huge greens with plenty of swales and hollows.
Overall the course was in terrific condition. There was a 36 hole scratch competition being played on the day but the staff accommodated our 2-ball at 1:50 without fuss. The greens had been punched 5 weeks previously and they had healed nicely. Running at 10 on the stimp meter(this information was displayed on a board near the bag drop). Unfortunately we had thunder and lightning during the back 9 so didn't get to finish. This was my second visit this vacation and had I had more time I'd have visited again. At $30 this was a treat!
I am confused of your comments, being a woman and have played this course 4-5 times I find it enjoyable to play. Playing all summer in Michigan, with our hills, our four tiered tee boxes on many courses, hitting over ponds hoping you can carry that 225 water
Most courses do not have GPS, so your point you never knew how far away you were from the pin, how could you not look at the GPS, also clearly marked ground yardage? That carts cannot get to close enough to the greens for you as a woman to check your yardage, but for men they can get to the green further out (they shut off carts if you get to close to certain things on the course, mainly the greens) what do you do if you have no GPS on any other course? How do you judge your yardage? You have a 15-19 handicap, so I assume you have played many different courses? There are a few climbs to get into the tee box, but I found not difficult at all, rarely I think three times in many years of golf, there was an opening to forward tees through plantings; the plantings are there for a reason; you go back to your cart off the tee box, then drive your cart down to next tees. This I really cannot grasp in a review "The greens were faster than I like, so putting was not fun either. You had to think about where to place your shot."? REALLY, is that not a big part of the game of golf? I have never played golf with anyone, that has not thought about the green, the cut of the grass, go high, go low, where is the break, is it dead on, and your husband thought the greens made the course difficult also? Did you read any reviews before you decided to play? It is a beautiful course, where you need to be able to land your ball right to set you up for the next shot, it was immaculate all the times we played. Very high end sand in the bunkers, the water hazards, either you laid up, or you better be able to carry the water. No, it does not have all the hills, the trees, etc. we have in Michigan; however, I found it far from boring, and nothing typical about it. They had a few hills beautifully landscaped, carts were wonderful, of wourse you could order food before the turn, to could GPS the drink cart girl, the rangers, and starter were very pleasant. I do have to inquire of your handicap, was that a mistake, I rarely, well I have never viewed a handicap a 15-19. It could be either a 15.2 or a 19.1, but you cannot have five strokes up or down? It was nice you enjoyed the rest of amentities of the club.
