Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course

Lakewood national is unlike any course in the area. 18 signature holes no holes play the same. You have to get over the construction noise all over but didn't affect our group. Possibly the best greens I've putted on ever. Conditions were fantastic it's a long course so play the right tees for your handicap. We will play whenever in the area. Lakewood national Please don't go private!!

This course is brand new, with no club house. Pricing is a bit high for this area. Those are the reasons I didn't give it 5 stars.

As for the course itself, it is fabulous. Generous off the tees so u can keep the ball in play. The greens are the key to this course. True golfers will appreciate the difficulty of the greens which tend to be BIG & UNDULATING. U want to learn why golf announcers say stuff like, :he's dead, cant get it up and down from there"? Then come play this course.

U have to think your way around and DON'T SHORT SIDE YOURSELF! So much fun!!

Just opened for 2 weeks so still very rough around the edges.

Do NOT pay full price here. Even at hot deal rates of $49 I would say it is overpriced!

You are pretty much surrounded by construction so everything has an unfinished appearance, the grass varies from top quality to very patchy newly laid rough areas.

No washroom on back 9.

Open and easy off the tees.

Greens are mostly large, but tough and at times unfair.

Definitely will be a top quality course as the design is good, but it will take time.

The price charged now should reflect the current state of the course!

Played course for the first time this morning with two gentlemen that had previously played the course. Fairly forgiving from the tee. The greens are awesome, very undulating and rolling very true. Will definitely be back!

Outstanding layout. Unbelievable condition - who every made the call to not open until the course was ready should be applauded - most new course open before they are ready.

New to the area but by far the best course I have played so far,

One of my favorite courses that I have played in 55 years of golfing.

Poor conditions for golf at this price: lacking restrooms, drinking water and enduring dusty cart paths. Construction and mud flats all around and little foliage. Not at all attractive. Greens are very hilly - seems unfair! Fairways also hillier than found in FL. Turf marks from recently laying down the fairway-- some grass not growing. Recommend waiting a couple more years to see how this course matures.
