Golfer Reviews
Good Sunday Round of Golf
Very enjoyable round of golf on a Holiday weekend Sunday. Weather was great (warm but pleasant) and the overall pace of play was good (4 hour round). Even though I have played there before remembering to keep the tee shots away from the meandering creek is imperative. Also keeping shots well placed in the fairway versus hitting a longer tee shot is also important for decent scoring.
very peaceful course
I like everything about the course except the ball eating creek.
Nice Local Muni
For me, it's a nice local muni that has some narrow fairways, a creek on the right on the front 9, wildlife and you can play at a relaxed pace. Friendly staff in the clubhouse with a good restaurant and bar.
Nice track
Can't beat Willow Park for the price and the course conditions.
nice views
I enjoyed playing at this course, and the people I joined were very nice company for the round! It was quite a while ago the last time I played here, more than 10 years, so was relatively"new" for me. As this course is in the foothills of Castro Valley, we witnessed a lot of wildlife on great views! As an added bonus to the round, I eagled the #4 par5 hole!! I plan on returning soon!
Hidden Gem
I'm a little afraid to let folks know how delightful this course is, as currently it's easy to get a tee time and the pace of play is very good. Willow Park is nestled in the hills, though the course itself is a gentle walk. There is an abundance of wildlife and it's quite possibly one of the most scenic layouts in the area. While the course isn't very long by modern standards, the holes, especially on the front nine, require precision off the tee. And beware of the creek that seems to be on almost every hole as it's an extremely powerful ball magnet. The staff is over-the-top friendly and go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your visit. Willow Park is full of charm and has quickly become my favorite place to play in the East Bay.
Great tight fairway course
This course was in great condition considering the drought that we are having. Fairways were green not brown, greens were lush but slow. Very tight fairways, had to use the three wood on most tee boxes. The short par fives had risk reward challenges. Reaching short par fours in one made my day. All in all a great course for above average ball strikers.
Beautiful but tight course
Beautiful, fun and fairly tight course. Unless you are accurate with your driver or enjoy hitting out of trees, keep it in your bag except for the par 5's. Lots of nature to view while playing this little gem of a public course.
Staff friendly and helpful, crowded on the weekends and fairly easy to get on during the week. Real value for the good conditions and did I say beautiful little course.
willow park
Excellent course a bit tough keep your accuracy could lose a lot of balls
Fun tight course
Have not played this course in at least 5 years, not sure why, it was both fun and challenging. First to tee off after the rain stopped and had a blast. Greens are in excellent condition considering they had been aerated recently. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, enjoyed my entire experience especially seeing the deer, hawks and other wildlife.
Good deal for your money
The course was good minus 4 greens being covered in sand. There were also 2 holes where the greens have become bunkers, the cup is in the middle of the fairway.
Good little test of golf!
First time here. Pretty good little track. Greens were in very good shape! Very narrow fairways (lots of trees,) very good variety of length of holes. I thought the price was right and I wasn't disappointed. Try it you'll like it!
exellent greens
I notice that greens are well maintain.Drains are very good.Somewhat challenging course due to some fairway are narrow but you can play very well if you are carefull what club you use and how far you drive. From number one hole to nine or front nine, you have to be careful right side is a creek and most of the tree is on the leftt.Back nine is other way around.I like it.
Course was more challenging then appeared
First time playing at Willow Park. The fairways are narrow for the most part and has a creek that runs along most of the course specially the front 9. I was most impressed with the greens and thought the hole placements were positioned were you had to think about your club selection on the approach. I will like to play again there again soon.
Fun home course
We went right after all the rains,So the course was very wet and sloppy but I Live 5 minutes away and it is a fun course to play so I will go back and play agian and agian
