Course in fair condition, very slow pace
The management has tee times 7 minutes apart so naturally, there is a backup and in general, the course plays very slow. The golf carts are very old and in poor condition, and the area around the greens is either over watered or not watered at all. You are either trying to chip out of the muck, or off of hard pan.
Good course for you're money
This is a good walking or riding course. The greens and fairways are well maintained and the pins are set to make you work for making par or birdie. I really enjoyed my time spent around towering hills and unspooked wild life on this charming golf course. I will deffinetely come again and I recommend this course to anyone
A hidden jewel
Don't let the scorecard fool you. Beautiful gem. Play with deer!
Fun course. Slow greens.
Set in the foothills, it is like playing in a park, a park that demands accuracy off the tee more than distance. Holes are varied and with water hazards make for an interesting and challenging round. Will definitely play it again.
Course has great views on some of the holes
I did like the course, it has narrow fairways and right side hazards on most of the holes which make the game little bit more challenging. Course it short but you have to bring your shot making skills with you. It's tucked in the valley full of trees which is very joyful for nature lovers. It was my first time and I enjoyed it.
This course is very good.
This course has great features. The staffs are very friendly. The course condition is good. I like this course and I will often come here with my friends.
Relaxing, would not pay more though. The driving range is pretty bad. The mats are the worst ever.
Golf course nice and the price is right where it should be at $25 with a cart. The staff was friendly. The driving range is one of the worst driving ranges in the Bay Area.
Tranquil, relaxing
The course is located in a canyon and you see lots of deer. A very
Balanced course, some easy holes, some doglegs and a creek that reminded me I have problems with slicing off the tee. Very laid back, friendly staff and was fortunate to play with Dennis, who has
A textbook swing and is one of the nicest guys I've played golf with. I would definitely go there again.
Great course for any player
Although the carts aren't in the best of shape, everything else about my experience here was good.
The course is very well maintained. All tee boxes and greens are well taken care of. Although the course isn't very difficult, there are chances to get into trouble with trees and OB areas into the forest.
There are reachable par 4s and 5s(in 1 and 2 of course) and that adds some excitement to any course. Recommended to any skill level.
Fun course to play
Have played this course 4x over the past two weeks ... The course is a little underkept on a few tee boxes with the greens playing with true rolls and very scoreable ... Nice course for the money and the location protects you from the wind... 3 1/2 stars out of 5.. Give it a try you will like it..
Ehhh it was okay
That explains it all. Had a tuesday 7 am tee time and just flew through the course. And it was just okay. A little unusual for me to see a course with little to no cart paths but whatever. Over all the course pretty easy. Flat as can be, a little narrow at times, and it plays to a draw. I enjoyed it mostly for how few people were out and the pace of play and especially for the price of $20. Would be a while until i go back but would still golf here again.
Winter= good, Summer= awful
If you play this course in the winter it is satisfactory , but in the summer it is dry , uncut daisy, dirt fairways, and tee boxes the worst shape. Willow park is like my front lawn .
Drivable par 4s with trees for risk and rewards
Front nine keeps creek in play and hills on the other side, keeps interesting for risk and reward chances. Early morning tee time allowed to keep good pace of play. Lots of trees to deal with leaves shot making swings, results may not what you want, but still fun to try. A must if you enjoy, sense of wilderness, wildlife and chirping of the birds.
Very serene setting and no homes on the course.
Good, fun course but conditions could be better; i.e. repair cart paths, holes, overgrown tee boxes, maintain carts, and roll greens.
This course has beautiful scenary and good for walking.
This course is a little bit short, but it's not easy to earn a good scores. It's good for walk. But it needs to maintain fairway conditions. The scenary is most beautiful ever seen before.
Good course to practice your game and enjoy viewing wildlife.
For a Sunday afternoon round, the course was not terribly busy (took four hours to complete) and the price was right ($25). The course provides enough difficulty to practice your game as the fairways are narrow with a meadering creek either on the left or right side of most of the fairways. In addition, some of the fairways have sparse grass and the greens were slow. However, this is not a course to grind out your game, but to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature (lolling deer, gobbling turkey strutting about, and flappiing of geese taking off or landing).
great surroundings
This use to be a course in great shape. That's not the case now.Everything is run down,The greens were about the only thing in half way decent shape.please bring it back!
Decent but wouldn't come back again
Decent muni experience that is somewhat challenging but needs a bit of improvement. The layout is kind of fun but flatter than expected, really no elevation changes and the "Creek" truly does run through all of the holes. If you can hit it straight and can eye out distances pretty well you won't lose a lot of balls, I lost 1 in the creek and that's it. Good luck getting an accurate yardage reading here though, you'll have to go by feel. Luckily the staff guy was super nice after we showed up a few minutes late and let us go off on the front 9 as we had to get back home for a family party by evening. We had the front 9 to ourselves (they start groups off on the back and then stagger them, this seems to RUIN the pace of play as the day goes on), and we finished the front in under 2 hours. On the back we caught up to other groups and were sandwiched in between afternoon groups who they were still starting off on the back. Didn't get the setup here. We finished 7 of 9 holes in 2.5 hours on the back and had to bail. Be prepared to keep your head on a swivel here, lots of hackers, holes are sandwiched together in a small acreage, and tee boxes are literally right next to the previous greens. Wouldn't come back here again as I am not local (SJ resident). If i was local i'd play it again for $20-30, max.
This course requires course management because of the dog lefts and rights
For the beginners this course is great specially on weekdays because barely anyone out there so you can just pace yourself and think about your shots without the feeling of being rushed. For budget golfers is perfect deal on golfnow.com but for the weekend golfers out there it's not probably something in the top list. Fairways, greens, and bunkers are not in top shape. Good to practice your course management other than that you get what you pay for.
