Golfer Reviews
Not bad for price
Riders fee was $13.50 staff was arrogant and I didn’t really appreciate that. I personally won’t go back since they don’t really take care of their course. Trees were down all over making it an eye sore.
Could use some improvements
Good course for the price. Rough needs to be maintained in a different way. I had several balls land just off the fairway and couldn't find them. Greens not in great shape, but that is because people do not fix their divots. Otherwise, fun and challenging course.
Short course, needs some help
Tup could be a very good course if the city of Atlanta put money into it. The greens are good - a slower than normal; the fairways were not cut and manicured, and the upkeep isn't there....
This is not a knock on the workers - just not enough of them.
The big tree is still down on the 9th / 17th tee box area (doesn't effect the tee shots) but does cause you to reroute the carts.
Pace of play is an issue, as there is currently no marshalls to protrol the couse. There is no cart person at his time, due to the shortage of employees.
It's up to the city of Atlanta, who owns the course, to put funds into this historic golf course as they did Bobby Jones GC.
By the way, if you don't know the story of Alfred "Tup" Holmes please read about him.
Alfred Tup Holmes - Course needs better mainenance
I like the course. I've played it 80+ times over the years. It's a fairly good value for the price. The greens and tee boxes are maintained pretty well. HOWEVER, THERE WERE MANY TREES DOWN ON THE COURSE WHICH IS PRETTY TYPICAL, BUT WHY ARE THEY NOT CUT UP AND REMOVED?! IT'S RIDICULOUS HOW LONG THEYLEAVE THEM THERE OBSTRUCTING THE FAIRWAYS. THEY NEED TO DO BETTER WITH THIS!
Good Muncipal Course
This course is good for the money. It is not perfect, but most of the greens roll good and at a moderate pace. Has a nice layout. They still need to work on cutting trees on the course. Just act like the trees are sand traps and keep it moving. For $22.50 for 18 holes, I can't complain.
Unique course
Lot of very different holes, not in awesome shape but you get what you pay for with the price. Marshall could be better about enforcing pace of play. Tee’d off at 720 am it took 4.5 hours, and we were the third group of the day. One slow group ruined it for early birds
Fun course
The pace of play may not be the best, but this is such a fun course and with a little bit of work it could really become a destination. I hope the staff works on the greens and maybe adds in some trees to grow to cover up the close tee boxes on some holes.
Great course for the value
Great course to play after rain drains well. Below market price.
