About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Easy course … good for practice..
Not good
The course was in rough condition. And no signage to guide you, so it's like a scavenger hunt to find the next hole sometimes. Like hole 13. It's across the busy street next to hole 4, but the sign directing you only mentions hole 4, nothing about 13. Won't be going back.

Pace was slow, Greens were in good condition. Played Butterfield course...one of the restrooms has water only going to urinals...no water to sink,
Worst course in southern CA
This isn’t hard. This is by far the worst course I’ve ever played. Horrible driving range, no fairways, horrible greens, trash, mounds of dirt and cement randomly everywhere, a septic plant on the back 9.

Fun course, not bad for the money.
Fun course, condition could be better. Not bad for the money. Not much difference between the two courses, both in only fair condition overall. cart paths and signage is in poor condition, sometimes hard to know where to play the next hole.

MY COUSIN AND I REALLY ENJOYED PLAYING HERE, WE PLAYED THE CHINO COURSE TWICE AND WANT TO RETURN TO PLAY THE BUTTERFIELD COURSE.
marshalls needed badly
The presence of marshals would greatly enhance the course. Pro shop staff could also help in not letting twosomes go out in front of foursomes. Put the twosomes together to speed up play. The marshals could help in keeping the pace of play fast. The fact that sand is STILL missing from the bunkers is another bad point for the course.

They just don't care that much
The restrooms are filthy. On the course and at the clubhouse. Carts die all the time. Needs to be marshalled. Got behind a 6 some last week. Been playing there every week and organize/bring a foursome sometimes two and no one asks my name or says hi. Course needs to be mowed more often. Rough can be 10 inches high sometimes. I play because we can always get a tee time on the weekends and it is close to my house. Just wished the management cared a little more and had higher standards. Could be a great place to go, if it was led better.

Off-road golf
Had so many courses to choose from on the GN app and we chose this course. That was a big mistake. We had a foursome and they had two walkers in front of us that were slow and we had 3 single players stacked up behind us! Felt pressure the entire day! The cart path is ridiculous as it’s like off-roading the entire course! They have let this course go including the bathrooms on the courses that stink of feces when you get close to them. I honestly have seen courses that charge less that are nicer. The carts are also junk. Spend the extra $20-30 and play at a better course this one is just joke.
