About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Butterfield
Nice course, fairways well mowed, greens maintained, good price and friendly staff, only negatives are no working ball washers and the terrible smell of the sewage treatment plant near the 9th hole
El Prado
Always a pleasure playing here. Decent price and course is in pretty good conditions must of the time for the amount of play they get. This time greens were not rolling good. Could of been MY PUTTING? Try these course!!
Course is in nice shape
Butterfield is always an enjoyable play. Wide fairways with little trouble.
The fairways are in good shape and the rough is finally cut back to normal height.
The pace of play today was terrible. For a Thursday- we were waiting five minutes on every shot. Sadly- El Prado doesn’t have any Marshalls to monitor the pace of play. Not sure where the slow group was- but they backed up the entire course. Ended up being. 5.5 hour round- not fun.
Dog Track
I'm seeing reviews that say this course is in good condition. I'd hate to see it on a bad day. The fairways and greens are OK, but the rest of the course is full of dead spots and hard pan. I hope that I don't get cancer from playing this course that seems to have been built on a landfill - you can smell the sewage on the closing holes. I feel sorry for LA/Riverside golfers being forced to play courses like this.
Great course and grass driving range!
Friendly staff. Great course. Forgiving fairways (for the beginner and intermediate golfers). Heads up, the cart fee is $45.
Will continue to play here.
Course is decent for the price
Layout is pretty wide open, lots of Parallel fairways, decent course conditions for $60 tee time at 9am on a Sunday. Cart need some updating, had to switch out at the turn battery was dying out, saw a couple carts getting pushed due to dead battery’s also. Will be playing again.
