About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

As good as ever
Excellent pace of play, course was in pretty good shape. Still needs some TLC as there is still a lot of old dead growth and broken paths and drains.
Great day
This one only second time playing El Prado. I’ve never played the other course just butterfield course. One day I will play the other course but regardless it was great to be out there playing a game I love.
Very fast play
On this hot day, we played a fast round. Only a group of four were in front of us and let us through. Course conditions were good. We finished the round in about 2.5 hours.
Fairly priced but sticks due to the location
The only bad thing about this course is that it stinks as it located nearby ranches. The driving range is on the grass not mat. Greens are slightly slow.

Good layout
I’m a 12 handicap and I usually shoot between 82-88. Played This course for the first time and realized couple of things.
First, you get for what you pay. The layout was great and if one can hit the ball to the fairway and get to the greens on regulation then there’s not much to complain about. Fairways were in good condition front nine greens were bumpy but the back nine greens were good. Bunkers need some TLC. If scenery snack bar and club house is important to you then this is not your course When I teed off I didn’t expect much but my overall experience was a good one. I’ll be back.

Rough around the edges, but fun to play!
This course has seen better days, but it is still fun to play and is challenging. Missing fairways can be a disaster as one side can be thick US Open type rough, while the other side might be weeds, dirt, and gopher holes -- you just don't know until you end up there! Greens are fairly well maintained, though speeds can vary somewhat. Just your typical muni course that gets a ton of use!

Last minute
Don’t expect nothing fancy or out of the ordinary, but it is great for a last minute golf session. Tee times are back to back so if you don’t mind waiting 10 mins to hit every tee this is for you.
Great price
Great price for the round of golf. Course is in decent condition. Pro shop staff is excellent and friendly. Good pace of play. Some tee boxes need some work. But overall, a great round of golf
Eh
Not great when I’m in the fairway and I’m constantly landing in dirt. Greens were hit and miss. The most annoying part is the lack of signs pointing you to the next hole as the layout is difficult. If u have never played there before, good luck finding the next hole on more than a few occasions. Especially finding the tenth hole if u decide to stop at snack bar.
