About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Enjoyed the day
Farways in good condition, the greens were well groomed. My score was mediocre, but that's normal.

The pro shop staff and manager are very friendly and efficient. the range is great. the courses are so so but very unkempt. The restaurant and its staff are terrible. Usually unclean and un attentive. In the bar usually one young inexperienced staff who has no interest in making golfers feel welcome or knows how to make a drink.They sit at end of bar and congeil with friends and could care less about service. never do they come out and ask if one would want another drink. They shut off the popcorn machine that golfers look forward to after their round saying it was too messy to pickup the remnants after the players had gone! Too messy or too lazy!! They did re-do the bar to make it more comfortable but the service sucks so bad we usually go a few blocks away to drink and eat. You have two courses and a huge amount of golfers go through each day and for you to allow these conditions in the restaurant and bar is very poor management. For instance a donut shop nearby would be excited to make an early morning delivery of 5 dozen donuts that players could enjoy but the same old nothing available in the cafe is still there!!!!
The greens are ok. Fairways for the most, are below average.
Course smells like cow sh*#
Hole 17 smells like cow sh*# + it’s in chino so you’ll be around a lot of the Riff raff players driving down from riverside/Paris etc.

Good course for the money. Had a school league running, so was allowed to play back to front, very accommodating.
Prado Butterfield, greens healing still
We got lucky the pace of play was pretty good we did have to wait sometimes. The course itself is OK if you’re in the fairway. The greens are still healing from recently being punched kind of like putting on a patterned carpeting. The staff are very good they make good food in the café. Plus Monday mornings are the best since it’s not that busy.
El Prado Butterfield
Course is in fair condition for a course of it's age. The greens keepers where making repairs to freshen up the practice putting greens. Some bunkers have sand and some are just dirt.
