About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Enjoyable day, course was quite
Enjoyable weather for a day playing golf....course was fair to good...pace was a little slow...we were accused of playing too slow by foursome behind us..complained to clubhouse that we were 3 fairways behind..not true one behind(gets more attention w/3).we kept pace w/ others...overall fun day.
Fairly decent course for beginners
Butterfield is fairly an easy course, it's wide and long hard to lose a ball with missed shots. The course condition is subpar but for the price, I guess it evens out.

Pretty good
It rained the day before so everything was pretty soft. Didn’t have any pace issues and I was playing a 2some. Waited maybe once or twice for the walking group in front of us but still finished 18 from the blues in just under 4 hours.
Greens were soft (aforementioned rain) and course was what you’d expect for a busy public course. Cart girl came by pretty often and drinks were well priced :)
Awesome course
Courses are well taken care of, beautiful scenery, friendly staff, two courses to choose from. Love it.
Solid, Affordable and Open
Course is in decent shape overall, greens were really nice. The pace was excellent and the staff is top notch.
Overbooked
Overbooked for every minute, staff was of no help. Had to cancel for a refund

Pace was SO Slow. Where's the Marshall?
We played in the afternoon on a Thursday. I was hoping everyone wasn't still on vacation. They were. The front nine was OKAY at 1 hour and 30 minutes. The starter sent out a single ahead of a foursome. Then we were a 2 some. If there was a Marshall, he could have sent the single to play with one of the groups. we waited at every hole 10 minutes or more. the back nine was 3 HOURS!
This was NOT FUN. Please hire a MARSHALL

Good value
As long as one understands they're playing an affordable course and a good value, this course is enjoyable. I think the staff here cares about the course and about the player's overall experience visiting El Prado.
Never go back
Although Staff was good, having 2 courses on site not enough restrooms.
As a fist time playing it is hard to understand the layout.
Worst was the there’s trashes everywhere and some smells.
With that really not an enjoyable atmosphere.
Since I have moved to SoCal and trying every many courses possible….. one of the worst
