About
El Prado Golf Course boasts two different 18-hole courses: Butterfield Stage and Chino Creek. Early in California's statehood, stagecoaches would make the 2,700 mile trek from St. Louis to San Francisco. The property used to be a stop on this trail, which is where the Butterfield Stage Course gets its name. It's the shorter of the two courses at 6,568 yards from the back tees. The course is flatter and more forgiving than Chino Creek, but it still has a fair amount of challenges that will test your skills. The layout has generous fairways, but watch out for the strategically placed bunkers lurking along the large, gently undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. The wide open nature of the course can be forgiving but at the same time it will put your round at the mercy of the prevailing winds.

Decent course at a decent rate
Played here as a twosome and was behind a foursome who had No golf etiquette at all. Re-teeing and practicing on the spot. Dressed up like tiger woods playing like crap. Would rather pay a little more to play at a nicer course with actual golfers who know golf etiquette
Had a great time. Greens well kept, coming back soon!

Dependable course
I’ve Never had an issue playing this course, conditions and pace are good, layout and length are good. Most of the golfers keep the pace so that helps a lot, I love a good dependable course, I’m usually done in 3 1/2 hours, occasionally it takes a little over 4.

Tee Boxes 4/5 Fairways 5/5 Sand traps 3.5/5 (a couple were a little hard but most were decently soft and playable Greens 4/5 greens were a bit thin and fast but workable.
Course layout was slightly confusing as there wasn’t a sign telling you where to go for 13-16 that I saw, maybe I missed it.
Overall a pleasurable course to play and will be back with friends.
