Green River Golf Club
About
The beauty of the Santa Ana Canyons surrounds Green River Golf Club in Corona. The club originally had two 18-hole courses but they have been combined to form one massive, sprawling golf course. Although it is surrounded by hills and valleys, the course itself is mostly flat, making it a good round for high handicappers. The fairways are wide and forgiving, making it even more player friendly for beginners. There are still many challenges in store on this golf course though, including a number of river and creek crossings and strategically placed bunkers. The Santa Ana winds that sweep across the course can often make reaching the greens in regulation quite tough and the abundant trees, while providing a scenic and secluded atmosphere, also add to Green River Golf Club's difficulty.

Hole 11 Photo submitted by gbjunior on 05/18/2013
Decent course and a nice value. Good pace of play.
Played on a Saturday morning as a single...teamed up with three local players. Played from the blue tees so it was long. Wind picked up midday as well...so it was even more challenging. Front 9 has three 3's, three 4,'s and three 5's. Some bare patches...still showing the results of heavy flood damage that closed one of the two courses.
Not the best Inland Empire course I have played, but for a Saturday morning, it was a decent round and a good value.
Course in good conditions and greens in very good condition.
Overall, very good experience and great value. Played with a couple ex- professional baseball players who could bomb the drives. Very nice guys and fun to play with.
Recommend this course.
windy
The girl at the clubhouse was attentive and helpful.
First time played , I will be back soon
Great staff, Made me feel welcome when I got there and when I was finished. Course was in good shape
Decent for the Money
Even with 36 holes being converted into 18, Green River is still a decent course for the money! Most fairways are forgiving and greens are in okay shape. When we played recently the greens were not mowed, so they were quite slow! The par three's on the front are fairly easy, but the finishing par 3's are quite the challenge! The snack shack hours on the course need to be expanded!
Old Fashioned Golf Experirece
I played Green River for the first time since it was converted from a 36 hole facility to 18 holes. The "new" layout is a traditional, tree-lined course. There are five par fives and five par threes, which is fine, though I hit the same club on four of the five par threes. The condition of the course was good from tee to green, with good grass coverage in the fairways and rough. The greens were slow to medium speed, with some distressed areas on a couple of the greens. Pace of play was great, for a Sunday, at about four hours. The service was good, and the green fee was about right for this course.
A great value for the price
The course backed up on the back nine and could have benefited from ranger assistance. The course was nice.
Holiday Round
The holiday brought out some slow play in the groups in front of us. The Marshall addressed it about the 5th hole and it cleared up at the 12th. Agonizing. Otherwise a beautiful day with some wind picking up in the afternoon. The last two par 5's are tough especially with windy conditions.
Course was very poor at best
Over a 5 hour round on a poorly manicured course. The foursome in front of our foursome had to be first time golfers taking multiple shots and wasting time. No Marshall around to speed up play. First and last time I will play here.
THIS COURSE HAS FUN COURSE
Lots of very interesting hole each one different
Pace of play was good until a group jumped in front of us on 9, overall about 4.25 hours
Unlike an urban muni course...great value.
You get the feeling that you're playing a remote course in the country with open hills, a river, and horses grazing in a meadow nearby. This course does not snake through a housing development. The course itself is not tight or bunched up like all muni courses. I've never been "backed up" on this course, and most importantly, it is a great value. Be prepared for some wind.
The course was in great shape the people were very friendly.
We have a great time and a very nice day, Bill the started, really stood out as he was very friendly. Plan to play there again very soon.
This course need clean up and upgrate.
I came to play to green river from out of state.
Staff was not friendly at all.
Course was dirty.
So much busy. (from train)
I never played such mass place a like green river.
I will never come back to play again.
This course is really beautiful surroundings
The view at this course is spectacular the surrounding trees wildlife
If you like to play in the wind....GR is your course.
When it's windy (which is usually the case) the course is very challenging, on less windy days the course is not that difficult, the greens are in good shape and easy to read, the course is in really good condition, it's a good value if you can land a deal.
Definately not 3 stars!
I read some of the recent 5 star reviews and hoped this really might be a 3 star experience for my family. It was not. Rental clubs were a disappointment too.
OC course without the Oc up charge!
get there before the wind picks up or else.. the course can be tough. Stay in the fairways, the trees and leaves will eat you up, don't show up thinking you will handle this course , its not hard but far from easy do to the rough and the wind. The greens are much better over the past 2 years. Art the head pro had brought this course together after caltrans beat it up. They have a very nice practice hole you can rent for $10.00 an hour , its about 115 yards in to a green with bunkers, that includes a cart to get there and a small bucket to hit at the range later. try it at different times and feel the wind. fun to have to take a 7 iron when your used to hitting sw. all in all if you goof golf , good food and bar and great staff.
Excellent Value
Not for beginners. Excellent scenery and well kept greens for the price. Love playing here.
Nice course for your money
Nice course overall. Wish the snack stands were open midway through but you're back at the clubhouse after the 12th hole. Only downside was the windy conditions that are normal for this course and the freight trains that pass every 20-30 minutes.
This course played soooo!!! Slow!!!
Play was very slow and none of the staff seemed very concerned about moving anyone along. They have posted all over the place to keep a 4 1/2 pace but they could care less!! I guess I'm the fool that keeps coming back!!! I've never played this place in under 5 1/2 hours.Thats unacceptable!!!!!
