About
Although Chateau Elan Golf Club & Resort is just 40 minutes from Atlanta, the panoramic views of the north Georgia foothills make it feel much further from the city. The club boasts two public championship courses and a nine-hole course as well as The Legends, a private golf club. In addition to the golf, Chateau Elan is also home to a full production winery. The Chateau Course is one of the public championship golf courses. The layout wanders across 170 acres, winding around a lake and two creeks. Water, not surprisingly, comes into play on more than half of the holes but there are also 87 bunkers strategically placed throughout to watch out for. There is thick Bermuda rough bordering the contoured fairways too. It is more open than the slightly more challenging Woodlands Course, the other public championship golf course.

GREAT GOLFING DAY
Was a damp cloudy morning but what GREAT conditions. Fairways and greens Excellent shape.
We need to go back to play more to learn the course.
Love the fact there are some very BIG greens and lots of space around them too !
Then we had GREAT shrimp tacos after play in the restaurant
Will get there earlier to take advantage of the large practice range and multiple greens.
Challenging Layout Especially in the Rain
This was the second time playing the Chateau course and even though it was raining today I really enjoyed my round. The pace of play was good and the course drained well despite the rain.
Several holes really challenges you and makes you think about your abilities.
Will play again soon!
Greens are in great shape
We have has a good bit of rain. We had a great time as the drizzle keep the crowds down. No waiting on any hole . Three some played under 4 hours. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Greens rolled true and some of the best I have played this year. But hey, get a card with a course layout and map
Best course ever
I went out at 730am I was the only Person out due to weather but I enjoyed myself and the course was astonishing. I've played hundreds of different courses over the years and this is by far the best layout and placement I've ever seen. The view is so amazing peace and quiet. I wish I could do this every day. If you have a chance to play here even once do it. It is well worth the price to play! Thank you for the amazing experience!

Very nice course well maintained
Pace of play was a little slow, but course was busy. Greens a little difficult to read due to sanding of all greens. Rolled true just could not get speed due to the sand. I would like to play it when the greens are back to normal.

Nice course
Nice course only drawback is refreshment girl only came around once on a hot day. Greens were in perfect shape. Kudos to the greenskeepers.

The Chateau
I have played this course a number of time under the old ownership. The new owners are maintaining the same quality along with some improvements. I could play this place everyday.

Nice course, but expensive.
A bit surprised by the $35 cart fee in order to maintain social distancing during this pandemic (I didn't ride with anyone in the car). Made for an expensive round. Course was in good shape. Nice layout. Chateau course is a bit more open and forgiving than Woodlands. Unfortunately no marshal seen on the course. The threesome in front of us (a foursome) seemed to need a conference on every shot. They backed everyone behind them up.
