Chateau Elan Golf Club - Chateau Course

Course sits low so it drains slow. Pretty wet although it has been dry for a week.

Enjoyed the course, the greens were bare in a number of areas likely due to uncommon weather pattern this fall. In years past the course has always been pristine. Chateau Elan is a great weekend trip. Both the Woodlands and the Chateau courses are overall excellent.

Played here Friday Oct 20th. A little chilly and wet but overall good condition.

Played the woodlands previous week, and the greens are in much better shape than the chateau course...more water on the woodlands and definitely more difficult...the fairway on one hole on the front nine is almost washed away...should really just skip this hole...

I have played Chateau Elan (both courses) for many years, and the course has always been inconsistent. We played the Woodlands this time through and the greens were not in good shape. Add to that the lack of ball mark repair, and it was not a good experience. While the cart attendant was around often and provided great service, the beer on her cart was old and stale. Will I play here again, sure, will I recommend it right now NO.

This course is fun, Paid under $19 on a friday before noon. The back tees make it on this course and the greens are bent greens tuff.

First time playing this course. Cart path only. Course was wet throughout. Well designed and challenging. Can't wait to go back.

My exitement to play Woodlands instead of Chateau wore off after the first green. What happened ? Large patches missing, nobody fixing their ball marks. Opposite of what I experienced last year. Very dissapointed.

Even though it was wet and rainy I still shot better than I normally do. I was pleased with the course how good of condition it was in with all the rain we had.

A beautiful course, (despite the rain, the day before) and an extensive pro shop, which was nice because I forgot my golf shoes.
And it was a nice compromise between me and my wife! She went to the spa, and I played golf!

The each hole has character and moderate course for every type of golfers depends on tea location.
Generally,very fancy,spectacular and well maintained except few poor greens.

Number 3 tee box does not belong on this course. It is in need of repair and I'm surprised it hasn't been repaired based on the condition of the rest of the course.

We got a very good price for the course. I've played it before and had nothing but good to say but yesterday the greens were terrible. They were very slow and spotty with patches without any grass. Call before booking and inquire on the shape of the greens before booking.

I played the Chateau course on 8/28. Only two greens were in decent shape. Most were flat out bad. The fairways and tee boxes were in good shape, so that's why they get a two. Never saw a ranger on the course. As single, I got behind a twosome that must have been playing on a regulation course for the first time, as they had no inkling of golf etiquette. I didn't realize it until a few holes in, but there were playing about three or four balls each. Once I realized that, I asked to play through, but as expected, they had no concept of that either. I just skipped the hole they were playing and it was clear sailing after that. I may go back to play Woodlands, but I don't know.

On a beautiful day we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday on this Golf course! Course was in great conditions except for the greens. Talking to Chateau staff they have been working on fixing them. Would definitely play there again and would like to try the woodlands golf course as well!

I had a DealCaddy price which I thought would be good. However they were offering $42. as a walk up play place. my son and I started around 2:15. The putting green was definitely in below average condition. There was water on the course but no cart person. We had planned to get something to eat but the bar/restaurant closed at 4:00. Beautiful surroundings but nothing much in the way of course condition. Very disappointing and I will probably think twice before getting another DealCaddy "deal.

Chateau Elan is a good golf course with friendly staff but it's greens have been ravaged by heat and aeration and this hurts it's overall playability. It has some challenging holes and at $40 a round is a fair price. It needs to repair it's greens before it can offer a higher price. But if you are looking for a good challenging golf course to work on your iron play, Chateau Elan can offer you this experience.

It is a shame to see a course with such great potential in this shape. The greens are cooked. Lots of bare spots on teeing areas. Generally sloppy mowing. Common areas of the course are unkept.

Greens were in bad shape. Looks like they killed off poanna and left large patches of rolled bare ground. They pushed 3 groups off in front of us at the turn and slowed the pace down to where we waited on every shot. No one was monitoring the pace of play. I liked the course layout and the interactions with staff were great.
