Chateau Elan Golf Club - Woodlands Course

green and fairway condition is quality good.
course design also little challenging but not too difficult.
tee box has also good condition.
one of my favorite in this area

Woodlands is my favorite compared to Chateau. Length allows for driver on many holes. Always a challenge. You have think your way around course. Greens in great shape and running very fast. Snack cart came around plenty of times and very friendly. $49 is a great value

Slow round, unfriendly starter, just average conditions. It was ok but not great

AND WHAT A DEAL, NICE TO GET OUT ON A FIRST CLASS COURSE EVERY SO OFTEN. STAFF WAS GREAT, WENT OUT OF THEIR WAY WHICH IS NOT THE CASE AT SOME NICE CLUBS WHEN YOU SHOW UP WITH YOUR GOLF NOW PRINTOUT.

The course was a lot of fun to play. There was a nice variety of holes, both challenging and easier. The course conditions were fine. There was maybe 3 greens that still had some work to be done but they were improving compared to the previous comments. I felt the pro shop and starter were friendly and we played in about 4 hours. I can't wait to come back.

Having played the Chateau course in the past we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the Wiodlands course was. The scenery was beautiful, and we felt very secluded. Expecting a long round as it was a Saturday morning, we were pleased that we played in under four hours

The staff was very welcoming and friendly upon arrival. The price was fair and booked through Golfnow. This was my first time playing here and had high expectations due to the course being a part of a winery and all. I was slightly dissapointed overall as I expected the amenities and the course to be over the top nice. Don't get me wrong, the place and course are great but just not 'wow' great. Also, the greens certainly are not in the best shape. Overall I would rate my experience as a 7/10. Did love the fact that we were able to play 9 more holes after we finished 18 for just $15...couldn't played 18 more for only $25 but we didn't have enough time. Would recommend as a nice course, especially if you can find a good price on Golfnow or somewhere else online...just don't expect to be blown away.

upon arrival there were no carts available and there was really nobody available to guide us;
the course layout is really nice, but the course maintenance must have been lacking this year;
a lot of greens were damaged and many ball marks were not repaired;

Tees and fairways in good shape but greens a little sketchy - very soft with rough patches in certain spots, sometimes around where the holes were cut. With the greens as big as they are they could have placed the holes in the better part of the greens!

Overall an enjoyable course and will play again!

Great place to stay & play, but greens were terrible. Be sure to check with staff on conditions befor you go.

I had never played the course before. I have stayed at Chateau Elan several times before so I wanted to play one of their courses. Before I went out I asked the pro shop which course had the better greens and they told me the Woodland course had the better greens. The course was beautiful and an awesome course layout with lots of challenges. However, the greens were terrible. I have not played on greens with so many ball marks that had not been fixed and bare spots on the greens in a very long time. I would expect those types of greens at a $20 public course, not a nice resort course. If they would fix the greens and make them to be in as good of condition as the rest of the course, I would love to play that course on a regular basis but until the greens are repaired and improved, I will not be back there anytime soon.

While this course is beautiful and well- maintained,
there are several holes that do not reward a good drive.
These holes slant sharply to the rough and even though you may hit a drive in the middle of the fairway, it can easily wind up in the heavy rough because of the fairways running so sharply to the
rough.
On the other hand, it is a beautiful course and only somewhat challenging.

This is a resort course with an executive, medium, and all you can handle Woodlands. ALL layouts are impressive, challenging, and will have you thinking do I have time for another round.
Staff is beyond kind and helpful. Truly helpful, not the plastic, salty concern you may get elsewhere. Wonderful people. Some greens have been affected, weather wise, but not to effect your roll. A must play.

Love playing this course. Greens were on rough shape yesterday.

I've played here before many times and it is a really nice course: friendly staff, great set up, & well maintained. But on Labor Day 2015, it wasn't as usual. Greens had been aerated and very bumpy. Two groups ahead of us were very slow and had no idea about pace. Two groups behind us quit playing. There was no ranger to keep them going. It happens. It still a good course. Maybe I should play on weekdays.

I've played the Chateau Elan Woodlands course several times and the greens this past weekend were in terrible shape - the worst greens I've ever played on, I believe. It would have been easier putting on a gravel driveway.

These were the worst greens that I have played on all year long. Based on the conditions you would have thought it was early spring and not late summer. I will give them another chance but it will be next year.

greens are patchs and weeds all over the place.
grass was not blown from the fairways.
needs more TLC.
not worth for $50 at all.

Greens were not in good condition... May have been a disease that effected them recently. A lot of ball marks that were not fixed by golfers that effected the greens as well. Fairways were in decent condition.

Good round at Chateau Elan Woodlands. The course is in great shape though the greens are suffering with heat and the play. The bunkers are fantastic and it's the best sand in the Atlanta area. Though it's a little out of the way from Atlanta, it's worth the drive and the course is challenging.
