course review
The fairways were under construction and felt like I was playing on dirt.
Nothing to write home about
The course conditions were poor, either too wet, or too dry, greens were slower than anywhere I have played in 10 years. The course has no redeeming qualities, noise from the airport next door, wind off the bay, tons of wet spots from the breakdown of the irrigation pipes, dry spots because of that breakdown, sand-traps that are really like hard dirt, some greens that are dead, others that look good but never run true. I personally will never play it again as its in a word- Boring. Played last night and can only remember one par three hole that had a lake in front, all the rest of them go back and forth and all look exactly the same, trees on both sides, sand traps on both sides of the greens and no elevation changes more than two feet.
Pace of play
Marshalls there are volunteers. They need to enforce pace of play. We waited for about an hour to get to hole no 3 due to a 5 some that comprised of senior folks. They should have been advised to tee forward or be divided into two groups. Other than that I still consider Skywest my home course.
challenging, slow slow greens
longish, demands accuracy on most holes. tree lined. ponds in play. the front nine greens were about the slowest I have ever played. by the time you get used to hammering putts, the back nine greens speed up, requiring another readjustment. the course would be more fun if they can figure out the greens.
Course playability
I like the the course design , generous fairways and plenty of length . You use
All your clubs . The course was in good
Condition , only complaint was the greens.
They were bumpy and slow . I would
Definitely play it again in the future .
Carts are like new ! Clubhouse is clean and
Nicely layed out .
Pace
It would be nice if the marshals would do their job. The course was busy, but slow play by 2 groups put the damper on all. 5 hr + round. We waited every hole, every shot except for the 18th. Misserable.
looks better than it has since I can remember
Looks like someone has been doing a good job bringing the fairways back to life. Looks better than anytime that I can remember.
getting better
only real drawback - slow greens
going uphill you have to mug the putt
good
good course, good conditions of wheather and grass, sand, greens. thanks
course conditions
The tee boxes and the greens were in poor condition. The greens were very lumpy and difficult to putt .
better condition
This course has improved on the condition, only thing is that the greens are too slow.
Very good corse . For long header
I love the fareways mantein good . Cut grass need to do same in greens , it is clean and nice . Iam a long heater 290 yard s to 300 ;., I like per fives .
the cashier or golf pro was terrible
we were playing making great time on the front nine but when we got to the back nine the starter or the guy at the desk started sending people onto the back nine because, the front line was backed up. The new comers since they had a later tee time should have teed off from the number 1 tee. we choose the early afternoon time knowing that it would not be crowded but since they started sending people off on the back nine as soon as the front got backed up by putting groups right in front of us it turned into a miserable experience on the back nine. They should have waited their turn on the front nine. We choose to start early to have a fast round but they ruined it by having late groups start on the back nine. not good!!!!
So, the back nine was terribly slow and it was not fair of them to start people in front of us. We had priority and they made it terrible to play the back.......
Go Ahead, Bomb Away
Skywest is one of the best municiple around. The course is well maintained and there is no geese feces. Most of the fairways are long, wide, and flat. Go ahead, bomb away.
Long Course
This is a rather flat but long course, and that is the major challenge. If you are a short player, it will make you suffer. The greens are rather slow, in contrast with the roll on the fairways. It costs more to book at the pro shop than on line .Hot dogs were good.
nice open place
This is a nice long open course not a lot of hazzards. Play is quick and I would recomend and will be back.
updated and clean, trees were trimmed
had an enjoyable good game. fairway is good. green is slow but manageable. good for beginners or high handiacapped
Good course
In pretty good shape and fast paced. Good price for a weekend. Not too challenging for average golfer
