much better choices are available
Golf course is right next to a airport where small planes took off frequently and flew close to the ground. Fairway condition was not good and some players had no etiquette at all. There was one guy hitting right in front of our tee-box. That means the holes are close to one another and dangerous when you have rude golfers playing in such a setting. will not recommend this course and will not play again.
philip mertz
the course is in the best shape i can remember. some areas of distress, but not extensive. the greens were uniform, no splotchy areas that i can recall, though generally a bit slow. i'll play there again soon. the joy of watching a plane or small jet rising into the sky from the adjacent airport is a serendipitous plus.
the greens are well msintained
Wonderful greens with friendly staff. The carts arewell maintained and continued improvements are happening.
the snails on the course
Two groups in front of ours were hitting 6 tee shots and seemed like each person was 5-putting on the greens. It got so ridiculous that 3 groups were waiting for them to get off the green on a par-5 hole. I called the pro shop to complain and they said would send out a marshall to investigate. I didnt see the marshall. Took 5 hrs to finish this somewhat easy course. Will seriously have to re-think about this if I make reservations in the future.
Skywest
Much improved tract , new greens are a little slow , wide open . a lot of clean up work done . oggd value ,will play again
Maintenance Problems
Greens are fine. But within 30 yds. of greens areas are terrible in many places. Needs seeding, soil (not sand) , filling of holes. Impossible to fairly "play the ball down". Fund additional labor to improve what can be a nice golfing experience.
SKYWEST LONG AND FLAT
IVE PLAYED SKYWEST 4 TIMES THE COURSE IS IMPROVING THE GREENS ARE BETTER MY WIFE AND I PAIRED UP WITH A NICE COUPLE GOOD EXPERIANCE.
Well maintained for a muni
Pace of play was awesome. Less than 4 hours on a Sunday of a 3day weekend.
Greens were too slow for my taste.
Great value!!
We had an 8:30 Saturday morning twosome starting time. We arrived at the course about 45 minutes early, checked in and got a range token to warm up. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The range is a bit dated, the target distances not easy to read or posted.
The course was in good shape, but a bit 'soggy'. I was surprised given our drought situation. But they do use reclaimed water. The tee boxes and greens are in very good condition. The course is very forgiving, wide straight fairways and not too much trouble. The pace of play was good at 4 hours on a Saturday morning.
Overall, a great value.
Skywest
Skywest. Nice course. Good deals available. Not a bad deal for the price. Not a lot of trouble. Can get a little windy in the afternoon.
This course is decent you get what you pay for
They just need to fix their greens. Other than that its a nice course. The Driving Range is not so good. You get what you pay for.
Great improvement from past conditions.
I set up a tee time in Skywest since our guest is a Union City resident. It was a pleasant surprise. The course is in great shape. Much better than it was back in 2009 when I last played. The only thing I can ask for is clear blue water hazards.
Course is nice for the money
The course is nice for the money through golfnow. We lost a few balls in the fairway as the grass was a bit long. The greens were in pretty good shape, couldn't complain. Only thing I would suggest for the staff, is to put a 10 minute gap between tee times. We were backed up by two groups and took awhile to play.it got to the point where some groups took off after the 6th hole and that's a bad experience for a consumer.
This course is well maintained
The staff was really friendly and they were very efficient. The course was in very good condition. We were a 3-some, and there was a 3-some in front of us. More often than not, we had to wait at the next hole for the group in front of us to tee off.
How much does $14 get you?
Golfnow strikes again!!! The day after a rain storm brought some very wet areas on the course, but for $14 (including cart)...how much can you complain? Great for a practice round. The fairways are in need of care. The greens were surprisingly good. SkyWest is a great place for the mid to high handicap players who just want to learn how to play without spending a lot of money.
Skywest - a decent value
The only reservation I have about SkyWest is the slow play. We had to wait on 10 of the holes with no Marshal to be found.
Good, but needs some work
Honestly this course overall is a great deal for the money. But there are some course issues. First and foremost they need to fix their stagnant work problem holes 3 and 4. There is a marsh land over there, and if your balls goes in it will never come out by you at least.
There was some bottleneck as well. I will most certainly play again, however. Oh yeah and they do have a great Bloody Mary, which is a sign of a good course in my book!
