A Great Walk!
I've played this course many times and I enjoy the course and the walk....the pace is always good however weekends can get busy. I think $25 is a bit high for this course.
Surprise experience
This was definitely a surprise experience. The layout was reasonable.the conditions were suspect. The fairways hadn't been cut for some time. There were mounds or indentations of dirt in the middle of the fairway. Some were mere yards from the green.
I couldn't remember seeing any ball washers.
Because of the price I paid, I was ok with this round. However, for more than $20, I wouldn't do it!
Thank you Nakusp for the review! We hope you can join us again at The Lights in the near future.
Pricey
$35 to play a par 3 course? Too much. Could have played Shadow Mountain for less money, a par 71 course.
Indio Golf Club will look forward on your return to tee off on the greens. We are always evolving and improving course experience.
Fairways need better management .poorly maintained
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize if your expectations weren’t met on the course. The Lights at Indio are always working to improve course and golfer experience. Hope you can tee off with us again with a fresh perspective in the near future.
fun course
Great course to play day or night for all levels of golfers
Thank you Dan for the review! We are pleased to hear you had a great time at The Lights at Indio! Hope to see you again soon!
Nice Municipal Track..
The Lights at Indio is a great short game track and it's an easy walk. It is mostly level with a few elevation changes. We walk the the 18 holes a few times a month...
A Disappointment
We play this course all the time and love it! HOWEVER, the management had obviously decided not to water it for the summer. The course had dry grass everywhere and, in spots, we were playing on dirt. It's a shame since we love this little executive course. During the winter, it is a value. In the summer, it is over-priced and barren
Challenging Par 3 Course
Played in very high wind conditions which was a real challenge. Some of the holes are 175-200 yards long so bring the bag. Has some water holes and is a price performer. I think the woman like to play it cause it's not real long. Played 18 holes in 3 hours with a beginner.
What greens?
The greens are terrible. Many of them are almost bare.
You can't get a ball to stay on the green very easy and putting is like rolling marbles accroos pavement.
great course to get your club yardage down.
INFORMATION: I was told by a friend who has lung issues, when he called the course that a charge of $10.00 per player, minimum of two players to rent a golf cart. On 02-15-16, I was getting ready to tee off and noticed the three some behind me had two carts. I asked the group how did the single in group get a cart? They said each of them paid $10.00 plus green fees. At the turn I went into the pro shop and spoke to "Scott". He told me that a single player could rent a cart as long as $10.00 was paid.
Good little par 3
We took a young friend who never golfed before - great little par 3, good practice facilities, good value.
Disgusting green conditions & not friendly staff
Hard to believe this course is charging $10 per person to use a golf cart!
We golf all over Coachella Valley & cart is always included.
The greens were in disgusting condition & they were making no concessions for that!
Decent bargain
Hates the kids with their soccer balls playing behind us in a group of 30... Kids are screaming and storming the course while I was on the green trying to putt... Waited 15 minutes to have them play through because I didn't want to hear them for an entire round!
We like it
We played 5 or 6 time in the last weeks and really like it. Depending on the flights before us it took us 2,5 to 3 hours. It is fine to walk, best with a pull-cart. You do not loose a lot of balls, since the water is only at the side.
We are on holiday in Palm Desert and play 4-5 times a week.
great little course
Played with my wife and the fun part of this course is you use all your clubs and have to be sharp if you are to score a good round..
Indio LIghts
A mixed bag for me. I quickly found out the course is managed rather informally. When it was our time to tee off, two other groups had taken the tee before us. No starter. I asked the front desk and she politely smiled and said just follow the next group. This was okay, though, my first time on the course.
There were a lot of golfers on the course playing early. The pace of play was slow but overall, when we completed 18 holes, we finished in about 3 hours.
The course was in very good condition and just opened from re-seeding. No bunkers and only a little water came into play. This is an executive course; however, there were plenty of holes with sufficient length to test you. Greens were okay.
The only negative item I can say was there were a lot of holes where there was incoming, each hole was that close to the next. When I first teed up all that protected the guys hitting off the 2nd tee was a wire fence. I could have easily hit them and thus, forced myself to hit right of them and off the green. There were a few other holes of similar circumstance.
I would not say this is a negative review. I had to walk the 18 holes, which I really enjoyed. Rented a pull cart. There is a family atmosphere to this course and one has to recognize all players were there for fun. Sometimes you may feel like wearing a hard hat. But for a very straight, almost level course, I liked the course. For the money, it was a good buy. Not so much for the handicap. Should have been an easy course but if you don't hit the greens, it's easy to bogey.
fun 3par
Fun 3 par course, that I would like to play under the lights. I hav taken my wife there many times and she loves it. This is a great course for someone to get into the game.
Great little par 3
Let me start off by saying that I've been playing this course for 37 years. I've seen many changes over the years but right now the course is in nice shape. The greens at this course in the past have been typically slower than most courses. Right now the greens are as fast as I've ever seen them. The day would have been perfect except for one MAJOR flaw: foot golfers! Foot golfers use soccer balls, most of them are young, loud, destructive to the course property and do not know etiquette. For instance, one of the players in the group behind us kicked his ball and it rolled across the green while I was putting. I could hear lots of yells of excitement from 4 or 5 holes back. Since this course is very close, it was loud, especially while I was on the tee box.
I complained to the management, who offered an apology, but no discount. In the future I will call ahead to make sure the foot golfers are not scheduled on the day of my tee time.
Also, for the first time in 37 years I was asked to leave a key deposit. Normally, not a big deal, but the foot golfers all headed for the pro shop to eat and I had to wait about 10 minutes just to get my deposit back.
Thank you Yukoner65 for the review and feedback! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your time at the course. Come back and tee off with us again soon!
