About
Nestled amongst the gently rolling hills of Rockdale County, Cherokee Run Golf Club lies within the Georgia International Horse Park. Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed the course. Occupied for centuries by the Cherokee Indians, dozens of arrowheads were found in the Georgian red clay as the golf course was being built. The beautiful landscape is covered in granite outcroppings, native wetlands, and dense hardwood forests. The towering trees line the fairways and the steep inclines throughout the course provide fast, undulating greens. Water hazards come into play on six holes at Cherokee Run Golf Club and there are nearly 100 strategically placed bunkers. The course's signature hole is the par-3 third. This challenging hole demands an accurate tee shot in order to safely make it past the sand bunkers that border both sides of the fairway.

Tough track
Course was in great shape
Greens were fast & very challenging
Fairways 10/10
One of my favorite places to play, however this time the pace of play was terrible ( 5.5 hr. round). Nothing was done to speed the slow groups up. one group stopped and got lunch at the turn and the marshall made the group in front of us and us wait for them keep their place in line. We never waited less that 10 minutes on evry tee shot and approach shots.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. The greens are really hard
I love this course and the conditions are great but be warned. These greens are very fast and quite difficult to read. Not a bad thing at all but your scorecard may look a little different when you play here.

Disappointing
I’ve played this course many times over the years and this is the worse it’s been. Greens were punched earlier in the week but they didn’t tell the golfers. The greens and fairways are being overrun with weeds. Plus we haven’t had rain for days but zero of the sand traps have been racked. Disappointed in the conditions. I hope this is only momentary and not a sign of things to come

This is a tough course - fast greens and a challenging layout- but it is in awesome shape. Fairways are the nicest around. When you start to get cocky about your game, play here!

Rain check
We can not get rain(heavy, rain) check because we booked through Golf Now. They said that we can solve the problem through Golf Now. Is that course policy or Golf now policy ? We don't know relevant regulations. If it is, please, let us know about it. Thanks.
As far as the raincheck goes, if you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow, no money is paid to the pro-shop, so there is no money that is owed back from the course. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future! Thank you!

Fast Greens
Greatt accept for 2 things 1. Sand traps full of small pebbles (screen out all sand) add fresh sand too. Bottoms of bunkers ( no sand at bottoms). Some areas around greens are worn out and need sod.

Worth the Drive
I've played at many courses here in the Atlanta metro area and I was pleasantly surprise with the gem of a course. I will definitely be back.

Fun Layout, Well Maintained, Good Value
Really fun layout to the course with tons of elevation change and scenic holes. Moderately fast and challenging greens. Pace of play is always acceptable since tee times arent stacked too close. At the price point, its tough to beat when comparing to other similarly priced public courses in the Greater Atlanta area.

Very difficult layout but conditions were excellent pace of play also good. Recommend for golfers looking for a challenge .

Great Course
Great Course, with Great Greens. Really Love this layout. Greens are firm and fast. Bunkers need work, and better clubhouse amenities, but Love playing here each week.

Nice Reminder
Hadn't played this track in years, it was a nice reminder of when it was in the rotation. Overall great….not excellent rating is because of some bunkers. The greens are in great condition and fairways, rough all within expectation. Definitely a course worth the cost!!!
