Cherokee Run Golf Club

Very fun course. The speed of the greens are deceptive but a lot of fun to figure out. The course was just fertilized and the greens were in good shape.

The course is good. After reading many reviews, I decided to drive over an hour to play here. It's not a course that I would drive that distance to play again.

The course is in great condition except for the bunkers; they stink. The fairways and greens are great.

Several holes are "quirky." I know that's subjective, but there were a number of holes that I would play differently a second time through. Many of the approach shots feature uphill shots or forced carries over water.

It's a very nice course; it's just too much of a drive to play again.

What a great course we played in Cherokee Run. Unbeknown to us, the course received an inch of rain the previous evening. We found out the front nine (really our back nine as we started on 10) was cart path only at the time of check-in. A big soggy and at times a long trudge to get to our balls. But it is easy to see that this is a great course when not too wet. Price was right and we’ll certainly be back to play when drier.

BTW, food and drink in the 19th hole were great!

Greens were great, fairways and tees much less so, evil greens, ball will roll right off on a bad put. There needed to be a ranger, finally got fed up on back nine, passed two parties holes and no one in front of them for the last four holes. There was a threesome that was playing incredibly slow.

If you haven’t played this course due to the fact it’s a long drive for you and golf friends, believe me the course is awesome! Challenging layout!

The greens are perfect not a single green is burnt up! The driving range and practice putting green is top noch! The clubhouse has a real good food I like the club sandwich!!!! Great value to play a course in perfect condition.

I played this course back in the late 90’s when it first opened. It still has fast greens and the course requires shot placement for you to have a manageable score.

Greens= Very good shape, fast and receive the ball well, be below the hole.

Tee Boxes = most are good shape, but are tough to put a tee in.

Fairways = Good shape, heat has taken a toll and need some water.

Pace = Excellent for a holiday

Sand Bunker = didn’t end up in them but they seem pretty good

Clubhouse personnel = Excellent, friendly and the very helpful. The beer selection is good and the food was spot on.

We played on Labor Day at 10AM - knew it would be crowded, so already set my mind on a slow round.

Having said that, this course is simply fantastic - an Arnie Signature course. If you’re willing to make the short drive from Atlanta you will not be disappointed. From carts to course to clubhouse it’s all good here. Fairways were like carpets and the greens were in excellent condition for the end of summer. Carts have GPS and nicest seats around - even have ball washers and coolers attached.

Take some time - and play this course.

Suitable warmup area with a place to practice chipping and bunkers; plays more like a mountain course. Very hilly but put together nicely. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Like most Georgia courses, don’t hit it in the rough, your ball is gone. Enjoyed the gps on the carts as well

Been playing about a year now and this is the worst I have ever played. The course is beautiful but it is hard. It was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and man was he unkind. Elevation changes through the rolling hills of the course, the greens for lack of a better word, run. They are hard to read and I left no putt short; they just flew past. Definitely recommend, but definitely for moderate to advanced players and definitely expect your first round to be rough.

Greens are as slick as a mole. Beautiful layout. Bring extra balls because this is a real course and it's hard!!

Clubhouse is nice and service is good. Beverage carts and full kitchen in clubhouse. Practice range has short game area with a bunker. Course conditions are good but patchy fairways in some areas and rocks in bunkers. Design is very challenging with lots of trees and forced carries. Pace of play was good until 14th hole when we caught up to 8 people playing together with no marshall to stop them.
