Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course

I'm pretty new to golf, been playing just over a year. Cottonwood is good if you stay on the fairway. Off the fairway and asking for trouble trees. Rough tallish grass. hard pack dirt. Great place to learn I think.

I check in and tried ti get range balls, but they were sold out for the day? Found that odd. At the check in, they mentioned they were about 15 mins behind on my our tee times. So basically checked in way too early. Starter guy was very unfriendly as well.

Tee’s off and the backed up for the first 4 holes but started to get a little better. Over all was a 5,5 hr round. Course was in pretty decent condition. Greens were a bit bumpy but rolled good for what it was.

It was a cheap round, but probably wouldn’t pay more than I did. Would recommend but pace of play does need to pick up.

Poorly managed pace of play, 6+ hour round was in the offing if there was enough

enough daylight. Walked off after playing 3holes in 1 hour. Never again. Facility is in rough shape.

Great having a starter. Keeps flow of play going great.

Still getting better, great staff, especially the starter. Love the french fries. Keep up the great greens, and maybe the best deal in San Diego county.

This course is vrry nice for the price. We also enjoyed the wonderful sunset scenery after rounding the course. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will come back.

I like this course the layout and the overall value. It does have a lot of trees, especially on 14. It is bargain played there Friday afternoon walked it and it was $23.00. The pace was slow, I think they don’t space people enough only 7 minutes between players.

Very enjoyable course. The amenity of having a starter, really begins a great and enjoyable round of course.

First time playing the course met up with some old timers who gave me pointers. The greens were actually in really good shape - the tee boxes and several other areas in the fairway were in need of repair. Overall I got my moneys worth and I will play it again.

Still a great value for the money, greens very good, and some of the best french fries in the county. Starter was very nice.

GREENS need to be aerated seeded and rolled.

Get ready to watch your golf balls to bounce like Mexican jumping beans. Probably reason why most players don't bother repairing their divots. Fairway grass is being cut too short in most areas but fairly playable.

Overall the course is good for the money. Any more expensive and it wouldn’t be worth it.

Seems like the pace of play is always slower comparatively to other courses in the area.

Hot dogs are delicious, and they have Negra Modelo on tap, which is nice for when you need a break. Breakfast burrito in the morning was good as well.

Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in decent shape, with some tricky shots due to trees and slopes, which makes it challenging.

Golf carts were wet from overnight condensation, and weren’t wiped down when we picked up our cart. They were dripping water on us, which is annoying, so we took our own towels and wiped down. Wipe down your carts in the morning Cottonwood!

Overall a good course of play, and good chow. Will always be a local option for me. Good value, for what you get.
