Turkey Creek Golf Club
About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

They need a Marshall out there!
Great course great price and I will not be back. The pace of play was brutal 5+ hours waited on every single hole just not worth it.
Turkey Creek
It was a beautiful day but one issue I was not happy about was the fact they had punched the greens within the past couple of weeks. They were large punch holes and still quite a bit of sand. This was not indicated when booking the reservation or I would have considered a different coarse. Further more they should have offered lower green fee's due to the condition.
almost ready for spring
Got a great deal on an early morning round right after they punched the greens . Tee boxes are a bit shaggy but fairways and rough are excellent . course looks lush and is ready for spring golf as soon as the greens grow in .
Great time thumb up
This turkey creek during summer time best condition layout and green putter could fast roll and other layout challenge
My favorite 14th holes par 3. Narrow course.
Try it! You'll love it!
Haven't been in at least a year... Lot of changes, mainly subtle and to the appearance around the clubhouse but did appreciate their efforts in the changes.
Course was in excellent shape considering how much rain we had and the greens were simply beautiful, much better than I can ever recall.
Love the layout!!
Challenging golf course
Very challenging from the blue tees after the rains we have had, played quite long.
First time playing this course
Fine course in good shape. My only negative comment is that on several holes, you loose sight of the players ahead of you, yet they are still in range. To be sure your clear, you need to take a ride up ahead, then return to your ball. Other than that it's a great course that I will play again.
Nice Course, Horrible Hacks
Got a great deal on Golfnow for 18 holes with a cart. Friendly staff upon arrival, nice grass driving range. Unfortuanately I got paired with a hack who couldn't hit a golf ball to save his life. I played 9 holes, and left just to get away from this guy. Not the courses fault I know, but clientel make a difference when you are spending time with someone. Ruined my day golfwise, but the I would recommend the course anytime.
Great setting for a golf course.
Love the country setting. Lots of wildlife and mature landscaping. The course is challenging, but fair.
The course is built into the natural landscape
The course is in pretty good shape. Some of the grass is a little thin here and there but really was insignificant. It was raining hard in the morning but cleared up after I finished hole 3 at around 9:00 am. There was very little water left on the greens after the rain, so I couldn't find reason enough to make it a 2 putt day. The greens are in good shape. I can't wait for my next trip out to Turkey Creek. The golf course was empty, much to my surprise. Everyone missed out on a great day.
I always love getting a deal to play here.
I moved to California in 2001. Spent my first few years living in Lincoln. I found Turkey Creek early on and I've always enjoyed playing there. I my opinion it is a fair layout that rewards good play and penalizes errant shots or pulling out the wrong club on the tee. It can play very different from the blue tees. I thought that even though we haven't had a lot of rain that overall the course was in pretty good shape. Clubhouse guy was friendly, but sometimes there can be slow play.
Beautiful and Challenging
Beautiful rolling hills with oak trees and granite boulders, make Turkey Creek one of my favorite courses in the Sacramento Valley.
This course is fun to play with wide fairways and fast greens
Greens are still fast, even with a little moisture. Fairways are in good shape. Water features are drying up.
Putting surface on greens not good.
If my memory serves me correctly, I remember your greens being quick and smooth. They were not on this date. I have always enjoyed the layout/venue and would have enjoyed the course much more I not for the greens.
Another great day at Turkey Creek
A day before my arrival, I received an email from the GM thanking me for selecting his course and encouraging me to contact him with any requests, etc. that's refreshing. Going as a single, I was joined with another single and a twosome, all of whom turned out to be a good bunch of guys. Pace of play was excellent, course conditions were excellent considering it was late January. Thanks to not overbooking (I suspect) and a very visible course marshal, we actually stayed 3-10 minutes ahead of pace the whole round, so we never had to wait on the group ahead and never felt pushed from those behind us. Cart mounted GPS overhead screens keep you informed of countless play elements and provides a great way to order lunch from the 9th fairway! Doesn't seem like a big deal, but to me, these are the little things that make a big difference to the golf experience. Regarding the conditions, I really appreciate the work of the courteous greens keepers at Turkey Creek. They're always doing something productive; fixing this, trimming that, etc., and it shows! At the moment, they are in the process of renovating the bunkers, such as the right bunker at the 5th green, but I've noticed during the last two or three visits that the left bunker at the 8th par 3 is still void of sand for some reason. Anyway, for the time of year, it's nice to hit the ball off of green fairways and impeccable greens.
New Sand
Course in excellent condition for mid winter and a drought ridden environment. Greenside bunkers being re-worked and are a welcomed sight.
Winter golf in nature setting
The staff was very accommodating, got us off early & let us play as a twosome. We're in a drought, so the fairways gave us lots of forgiving rolls. Considering that, and it's winter, the course is in good shape. But I would venture a guess that when the grounds are green & lush, and the "ponds" are full, the course could be very challenging. But even in winter there are plenty of opportunities to lose balls. It's a treat to play a course that isn't surrounded by houses. Plenty of nature & wildlife to behold.
No longer a secret gem
This is hands down the best course in and around Sacramento. Too bad soo many people know about it though because it is always packed. I miss the days when I could walk on in the evening and finish 18 in about 2.5 hrs. This is still my favorite place to play.
Extremely POOR customer service!! BEWARE!!!!!
Turkey Creek was easily my favorite golf course in the area and I thoroughly enjoy playing it. But on Jan 2nd, that changed. I played a round of golf with a client from out of town, and of course brought him to Turkey Creek. Our tee time was 12:40 and it was a slow, but beautiful day.
Completeing the 15th hole, our golf cart started having significant difficulties in making it up any hill, no matter how large or small the incline. We used the cart GPS system to signal the pro shop we needed assistance and it responded help was on it's way. We continued to play the hole.
5 minutes later, a message was recieved that the course was closed and to make our way back to the pro shop. By this time, the cart was really running out of juice pretty bad and barely moved. We proceded in using and pushing the cart path or a straight line path on the fairway if it were more level as we headed in. No help came.
We left the cart on the 17th hole,, took our clubs off the cart and walked in. I stopped by the proshop right at darkness to find out why no one came out to help and was surprised at the reaction the pro shop person had. He stated, "The course is closed. You were supposed to stop playing". I told him that our cart died and we asked for help and recieved acknowledgment BEFORE the course closed.
He said, pointing at the monitor, "Well your cart kept moving from 15, 16 and 17, up hills and all so I find that hard to believe you cart died." I told him we PUSHED the cart, and I didn't appreciate his accusing me of lieing. I asked him why nobody came to help us as acknowledged by the Cart GPS system indicated. He shrugged and said we're closed. He then turned his back to me and walked away I immediately left, disgusted with how I was treated.
I wrote an email via the courses website and the manager immediately replied that he wanted to contact me to get the details. That was 2 weeks ago and he never called or followed up.
I used Golf Now to make my reservation and i want everyone to know the poor service I received. I do not plan to come to this course or sister courses again and will certainly never recommend clients play there based on the poor service recieved. Customer Service is important - and bad service makes a difference.
