it's ok
the situation in the monterey airport flight path is horrible. The noise and distraction are a nuisance at the very least. The greens are better than average and tricky. The rest of the course is average.

Mtry Pines - Great Bang for the Buck
Definitely a little gem located in the city of Monterey: Convenient, reasonable, well maintained, attentive staff, good food with a wide selection of beverages. The pace of play was also quick. I've always had good experiences on and off the course there.

Great course for everyday hackers
Great course for all hackers. Wide open fairways but better players can take on challenges by cutting corners of doglegs. Greens are in great shape as are the fairways.
Only problem we had with our round was the pace of play. We played right after a tournament and it took over 2-1/2 hrs for the front nine. In the back nine with no one in front of us we played it in 1-1/2 hr.

Can't beat it
Monterey PInes is tough to beat for a good golfing experience.
First off, the staff is always cordial, if not downright friendly.
The place is well maintained and looks good. Even the bunkers are in good shape.
It is not the most difficult course in the world so one can feel good more easily.
There is outdoor seating as well as a bar inside for an adult beverage after the match.
And it is easy to get to from anywhere on the Monterey Peninsula.

Nice round at the Pines
We play here frequently, And always seem to injoy the course. The course is usually kept in pretty good shape .
The course is not as long as some ,Nor as difficult as some others ,But the holes are varied, and it does present a challenge.
