About
Situated within the Oakland Hills, Lake Chabot Golf Course offers stunning views that stretch across Oakland, Bay Bridge, and the Lake Chabot area. The course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1932. Slight changes have been made over the years to improve the layout but it has always maintained its playability. The terrain is hilly, which makes flat lies hard to find. Accuracy and precise shot placement will get you far. The stretch of holes from the 15th to the finish has the best scenery on the golf course. From the risk-reward 15th hole, you can see all the way to San Francisco. The unique final hole is a par 6 that plays to a whopping 673 yards from the back tees. It's a straight, downhill hole with a memorable view.

Course condition
I’ve played this course 50 plus times . It can’t remember when the course was in such great condition. Aside from the tee boxes everything was in fantastic condition.
Can’t wait for the club house to be rebuilt.
Hilly Course with above average conditions
This is my second time playing here and it’s a fun layout with some unique holes. Conditions are above average for a muni course. Fairways were very lush. Greens are small but roll smooth.
The course is built on a hill so there is rarely a flat hole on the entire track. A couple of the holes offer views of the SF Bay. The signature Par 6 plays extremely downhill and really is just a Par 5. I would imagine long hitters might be able to reach it in two
Not much for amenities right now but looks like they are doing construction on a new clubhouse/ restaurant? The course is worth playing for sure.
Two things to note : one, bring bug spray. There’s a 3-5 hole stretch that was horrible. And careful driving in / out as the entrance road cuts though 6 holes. As in people tee off and hit over the road you drive in on!
Will play again.
Will recommend playing at Chabot even to my father-in-law.
I love this course
I love this course. to start with the courses beautiful Some awesome views. It is not in the condition of a high-end course But it is very playable. If you like elevation change, this course is awesome. Can't be beat. I wish it was closer to where I live. I'm in northeast San Jose. The only par 6 this side of the Mississippi is just a bonus.
