Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course

The driving range is under construction. The fairways were hard, and dry due to the drought and it was a HOT day. The Tee areas and greens were in as good as shape as possible, maybe even better than possible. The staff was friendly, we didn't try the food. It is a hilly challenging course given the conditions. We would play it again

Another fun day at Lake Chabot.
It's always fun to play here due to :
quick pace of play
excellent value for money
scenic views (can see SF)
and interesting holes -
par 180 par 3 from a 100' elevation
and the mammoth PAR 6 18th.

Note: they are renovating the practice facilities
to allow drivers from range. so,
1st hole is playing as par 3 till work done.

would recommend Lake Chabot anytime.

p.s. they also have a fun, short par 3 course too!

and up and down... You'll struggle to find a course with more hills - the par 3 just after the turn is basically a lob wedge into the air, and see if it lands on the green - roughly 60ft below you. Some amazing views, and a well-kept course considering the lack of water around.

I enjoyed it, would certainly play again, and hope that when the renovations are complete the course will play a little fairer!

Really fun layout. Old school course...small greens..placement course. Vistas are outstanding. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Lots of construction taking place and it was misty so the course muddy but playable.

First time there. Felt like I was vacationing among the trees of Mendocino, not Oakland. Can't wait for redesign of First T.

The course has numerous ups and downs and deep changes in elevations at times. There are some holes that require long and perfect tee shots to land on a flat area otherwise you'll be going down the hill to find your ball.

However, there are some holes with great views. Play it once and then decide if you want to go back for the challenge.

Playing the game how it's meant to be played. Walking this course was unreal peaks and valleys but it's all worth it when you see the views. Easy course to play first nine was good but the real game starts on the back 9. The course was a tad dry because of the drought, but on the back nine is where the scenery comes into play you get a view of the East Bay and South Bay that's incredible. I will be playing this course again when I'm done being sore.

Good deal, great views of the bay from several holes. Like many GC in California these days, the courses are stressed due to the drought. It has been awhile since I had played here and besides the drought, there are other areas on the course that needs some TLC, namely the cart path and restrooms.

Course needs maintenance. Cart paths are worse than the course to ride on.

The course is under some construction. First tee is box is a temporary par three. The course is a lot browner than when I played 3 months ago.. The course has beautiful vista views and elevated tee boxes.. I enjoy playing even though the course wasn't up to par..

For the price, Lake Chabot is tough to beat! The course is in great shape. Only down side, they do not have a driving range yet. But I would definitely play there again and again.

Course was in fair condition due to the drought. Pace of play was very slow, 630 round. ( in all fairness it was a Sun). Costumer service was excellent, especially at the snack shack!!!

The course is in ok shape given the drought we are in, the greens are awsome, what a pretty cool course, lots of elevation changes, and some really good views of the bay area, would definitely play again.

Very fun course to play! Had heard about the course from friends so I had to play! I had never played a course with all those hills, valleys, but worth the trip and $$!!Will definately play again in the near future! A fun day for sure.

My 16 year old son and I got our tee times through GolfNow for $15 each including a cart. The fairway conditions are in okay conditions considering the drought, but the greens are in excellent shape! Although the course is shorter than 6200 yards, the elevation changes and the tree lined fairways add to the challenge. The course is tucked into the beautiful Oakland hills and offers vistas of the city and bay on the back 9 that are a treat for every golfer. On the 18th, 673 yard par 6, my son got on in 2 with a 3 wood off the tee and another into the green. When you get to the bottom of the 18th fairway, don't forget to look back up the hill. It's an awesome sight!!

The course is in decent shape but in general there just aren't many flat lies on the course. The staff are friendly and good. The greens though are slow but in decent shape.

The course was in good condition but the pace of the play eas really bad. 5 hours and 56 minutes to complete the game. There was a marshall but he did'nt do anything.

Very hilly and a challenge to walk, so a cart is a must. There's a big variety of different holes and looks to challenge your shot making. Don't miss out on this thrilling course!
