Great time
Course was beautiful, staff was friendly, & had a great time. My buddy ended up going to the wrong course, staff was very flexible and let us start late. Was able to hit range balls (for free) into their beautiful practice facility in the mean time. The holes were beautiful. Stereotypical Florida course with beautiful water & gators. Only thing was the greens were really tough. Some fast & some slow. This happens when the course is so new. 10/10 would come back.
Spectacular
For a new course, this is everything you could want. Challenging course in outstanding condition. When the greens mature and are brought to competition speeds they will be a real challenge. For now they are very true and fun to putt. Staff is friendly and attentive. The pro shop is well stocked with a variety fashions. The beer is cold and plentiful.
Thanks for a great day.
Green punch buggy
Let’s start with saying this course was a beautifully scenic course. Properly cut edges and lush grass made it seem as if it were going to be a quality course. Until you stand on the greens. The greens were designed horribly! Not being dramatic but as a 4 handicap player and a former +3 handicap, we struggled to make sense of the greens. Some greens were penalizing at the least and the rest of the greens had either a massive swale that would give the grand canyon a run for its money or a mound so drastic in the green it looked like someone buried a VW beetle there. As very skilled players, we were hardly able to manage the greens. For your average amateur player, whose handicap will most likely be higher. I would say there is a good chance they will not want to play the course again because of the penalty and punishment they will receive on the green. Unless for some strange reason they are a glutton for punishment!
Excellent Setting
Nice mix of water and forgiveness; plush fairways, friendly staff and fast pace on a light Monday - played 18 in just over 3 hours. Greens were slow but that is expected with a course that has only been open for 6-8 months.
Beautiful Course!
Great conditions all around for a newly built Golf Course. Forgiving/wide fairways but the greens are soooo difficult. I can only compare to a put-put course Ha!. Greens are in my opinion what makes this course a serious challenge. Overall wonderfully manicured, great layout...just wish they weren't stacking houses on top of each other.. got to love the greed of these builders.
It's fun, greens are curious
My son and I played and had a lot of fun. The course is nice and despite the many lakes, is forgiving off the tee. If they speed the greens up, one could get faced with some nearly impossible putts. I don't understand the desire to build courses with undulations so dramatic grass struggles to grow in some spots Staff was great. We'll go back.
Worthy Course.
Azario is worth your time and money to play. The staff is friendly and helpful. The facilities are very good with more to comes it gets built out. The course itself is challenging for all levels. It's an open course with bunkers and water to keep you honest and thinking. the greens had a stint of about 10 and were in excellent condition. Bring your friends and have fun, it will be worth it.
Great Course to Play!
We always have a nice time at his course. Carts are modern and well equipped, staff is friendly and the condition of course is excellent.
Always a great time
I love playing this course, and this time was no exception.
After the storm we just had dropped 8"-9" of water in the area, I was very impressed of the course condition. Just a handful of wet spots with no sitting water anywhere. Tee boxes and greens in perfect condition, and you still got good roll out on the fairways.
Speaking of greens, they are running a bit slow as they are letting some baby grass grow in. Not an issue, just a call out as they look like they should be running at about a 12 but probably closer to a 9/10. Adjust your speed accordingly.
Pace of play was perfect. Didn't wait more than a minute or two if we had to wait on the tee box. Finished around the 4 hour mark.
Very Slow Greens
I like the course design of Azario, but their greens were as slow as I’ve putted on. The greenskeeper needs to speed them up!
Azario
This was my third round in 5 weeks at this course, 80, 90 & 84 form the white tees. The greens are still young and firm and there are no flat greens..Hit every club in your bag if you want to. Course GPS is very accurate. Will be playing it again.
Better than most
I was relieved that previous reviews were wrong, there are no food/drink police after all. The course is in prime condition, but I wasn’t impressed with its character, again in conflict with other reviews. Lakewood National still is tops in my book. Most of Azario’s character was in water features, which gets old after awhile. Kudos to the grounds crew!
Great course
Awesome conditions. 2 drawbacks, my GPS watch does not work there and no liquor yet, but it was a great day
Young course, great potential
Course was cart path only but we didn’t know until we got there Price should be much less for the course condition.
I'd like to begin by asking how did you go about booking the tee time? We notified Golf Now , Chelsea Tee Time Reservations, and Suncoast Trail Card over a week ago regarding our cart restrictions due to overseeding. If you booked the tee time through the Pro Shoppe, everyone was being informed.
In regards to the correlation between course condition, cart restrictions, and price adjustment, our general practice is when we go through the aerification process we will adjust pricing. In this case, we adjusted our cart restrictions due to the overseeding process. We utilized 26 tons of rye seed on the golf course (except greens) which requires 7-10 days of minimal traffic in order to germinate.
In general, courses do not adjust pricing based on cart path restrictions.
Thank you for the feedback. In regards to the green speed, when you have greens that are 10-11 months old at this point, we have to make sure they are mature enough. We will speed them up accordingly over the next couple months.
