Best in San Jose
This is one of the best courses you can play in San Jose if you can do good here than all the other courses will be easy the reason why is because of the fact that this cours has some nasty slops if you get a good tee shot it won't be as good one it hits the slop some times it will roll all the way past the cart path so you have to play it just the right way the greens are moving fast right now a few of the holes have water right befor the green this is one of the ones that if it's your first time bring a lot of golf balls but thus is one of the best courses you can play in San Jose it's harder than spring valley and Sj muni and you can't beat the price of this course the best Marshall they have is ken his is cool and doesn't really sweat the small stuff so it's good the people in the club house are nice and helpfull the only bad thing is the driving rang it's irons only so if you want to warm up befor your roung you can't use your driver but when you warm up your only suppose to use the small irons first then work your way up so I would recommend playing at this course with any one I know
Mismanaged pace of play.
Saturday. Noon start time. 5.5H round. No course marshal. Waiting on every tee box10+ minutes. The reason was very slow foursomes ahead. Group ahead of his had player with no shoes. Hitting multiple shots per person. During the round, 3 groups ahead of us left because pace was so slow. The course is very narrow and frequently there were groups playing in adjacent fairway (more delays). Dirt and gravel in the green side bunkers. Would not play this course again.
Course is in atrocious shape
Not only is the course dry, hard ground, but the grounds are in really bad shape. I've played here for so many years and this is the worst shape I've seen it in. Makes me really sad :-(
DRY AND UNFAIR
I had forgotten how sloped the fairways are on this course. I hit several balls done the left side of a fairway only to find my ball on the far right of the cart path. Now that the course is very dry, the ball rolls even further off course than it should. It's also very hard to get a green to hold an approach shot. Pace on the front was great. When we got to the 10th tee we had a group in front of us and had to wait for them on every shot the rest of the day. They were over a hole behind the group in front of them. Typical for this course!!
Fun to play/ bad condition
This course was in bad condition. More brown grass than green. The greens were actually pretty decent. Overall layout of the course makes up for it. It was fun to play. I would play again.
A course with good hill top view
played there many many times, close by, green used to be very fast on some holes, now moderate.
like the layout
one off my favored corsaes.willkeep playing thrir.
Regretted the whole experience
First time, last time... but then again, you may like a lot up uphill and downhill, dry, rock-hard greens, sloped fairways, and 5+ hour rounds.
We were waiting partly because the players at this course take an inordinate amount of time getting ready to make a shot. Then add in the difficulty of this course and we were waiting 10-15 minutes per hole to tee off. Most of the players that we witnessed, are not aware of golf etiquette. The players were were paired with, were never ready when it was their time to make a shot. They walked over our putting lines. And they played from the blues. The players in front of us would walk to their ball, go back to the cart, grab a club, go back to ball, take 2-3 minutes surveying the shot, then a half dozen practice swings, then stand over the ball and ponder for another minute. On the 18th hole, while we were ready to make our final approach shot, there they were, looking for balls in the lake. The "Ambassador" said sorry, but could not do anything.
One would think that a course located in Milpitas would expect to be hot on many days, yet there are no trees near the tee boxes. Plenty of trees blocking the fairway and greens, but no trees for shade while waiting our 10 minutes to tee off. Now add in the drought, and a lot of their fairways are just brown, so the ball rolls forever, which is not so good, when the fairways are all sloped toward the creeks. I honestly cannot recall a worst experience golfing, and I have been golfing for 30 years...
Lets DO It Again!
Great course. Great staff. Pace of play was even cool. Bit of a drive and kinda expensive for my skill level and that of my boys, but I guess thats the price you pay to play in Silicon Valley.
Holiday Golf
Had a nice round of 18 on Easter, the course backed up several times with no signs of the Marshall for a long long time. Being a holiday everyone was in good spirits and played it out slowly.
I would definitely go back and play again.
The course condition is bad and getting worse
Green is too firm to play.
I can't guess how it will be firmer during the dry summer season.
Fairway is so firm, too.
I don't know why they don't manage this well designed course...
Beautiful facility
We had a wonderful time playing this course. I only lost about 2 golf balls. I will play here again.
golf
the greens were GREAT Smooth and Fast im a 5.7 index
Summit Point
A well kept challenging course. The fairways wander along the sides of hills and through canyons. Seldom do you hit from a level surface. Usually the ball is above or below your feet.
Fun course
I've played summit a lot of times. It's a very hilly course and some of the fairways won't hold a perfect tee shot. Your ball will trickle down into the rough even if you hit a peach right down the middle. It's an easy place to get a early morning tee time and plays fast then ( under 4 hours). If you play in the late morning/early afternoon then be ready for a 5 hour round. Course is in decent shape for the price. Close to SJ and affordable, I'll be back many more times.
solid round
great round. booked our tee time last minute and had a nice day.
Sunday Funday
Nice relaxed afternoon of golf. Went out at 3:16 on a March Sunday and they let us go out as a twosome. Course has a lot of hillsides but the fairways are mostly flat which helped this beginner golfer as my ball would roll down the slope and stop in the middle of the fairway. Staff was very pleasant and the only disappointment was that they stop serving food a couple hours before closing. Silver lining-the bar stays open! Beautiful views of the bay, large old trees and plenty of wildlife. Will definitely be back.
Tough putting
It's not an easy putting green. If focus on two putt, you will finish with pride.
great views, nothing else
slooooooooow, not very well maintained. greens were good but rest of the course is pretty poor. golf balls flying at you from all over the place. didn't see a Marshall until number nine green after a 2:45 hour front. won't go back
