Hilly terrain, tough lies
Course was in pretty good shape, tees and greens in good condition. Course is built in the hills so the lies can be very challenging especially on the front 9. Great daily deals on GolfNow if you are flexible with dates & times.
The management and customer service are horrible
I arrived for my 2:20 tee time at 1:45. there was a sign stating that the practice range would be closed at @ 2:00 P.M. .
When I asked for range balls I was informed that the desk clerk had been instructed not t sell any more that day. Since I do not have the ability to play well without hitting a warm up bucket, I elected not to play. I got my refund from the manager, but it was clear to me that the manager could not have been less interested. I have rarely felt so unwelcome in a place of business and it is highly unlikely that I would consider playing at
Summitpointe or any of it's affiliates in the future.
Don't play on Sunday with a Six-some ahead!
We were in a foursome like most regular attendee's but the group ahead of us had three carts with two people in each making up an unheard of six-some. What was extra annoying was that the marshal looked the other way every time he passed them. I'm able to deal with many delays but these six froze me up on two shots that cost me a par or under par round so it wasn't enjoyable what so ever!
Lots of up and down.
Lot of up and down throughout the course. Provided a great challenge and a lot of fun.
Great views
Extremely slow play with no evidence of marshal assistance
We teed off mid morning on a Sat and it was the longest round we have played in years. 6 hours!
Better than it used to be
Slight step up from a muni. Design is suspect which makes it more like a muni than a top tier course design like Cinnabar,Eagle Ridge or Coyote (tournament not Valley). Ok with a groupon deal. They pack too many in during peak times.
this course has lots of elevation changes and sloping fairways
very seldom will you have a level lie, even the tee boxes are slanted. this course will make you think. hard to read greens will have you scratching your head. can't wait to give it another try.
A place to see how good your game is.
Located in the foothills the course presents a challenge due to uneven lies and greens with uphill and downhill putts. Typically not to crowded. Great views of the bay.
Great
Hard greens, great course!!! I will be coming back to this challenging course
Good course, some challenging holes, spectacular views of the Southbay.
The course is fairly well maintained, pretty challenging with decent green variation, a couple of good blind drive holes, and terrain that calls for good lateral shot placement within the fairways. The pro-shop staff was helpful and friendly though the cart management was a somewhat incompetent . . . after having to wait until 3 minutes before our tee time to get a cart, we got one that lacked the battery power or well maintained-ness to be able to go uphill. All in all, a good course.
Great value. Good course.
Very nice overall. Good course. Great people. Good staff. Very fun course. Will play again.
Great views
Challenging well maintained course. Fast greens that break hard toward the valley. Very slow pace however - 5+ hours with a 7:30 am start time. Something was wrong as we waited on every single hole.
greens in excellent shape
very nice / challenging course and was generally in very good condition
This Course Has Very Tuff Greens
Had Been A long time since going out there. The course was in good shape.Green very good shape. Sumitpoint G.C.
This course near by where I live.
The new Staff is not friendly like before. I played there over 50 times in the past 3 years. I like the course and staffs always friendly.
A short challenge
The course is short for my preference, but is very challenging with its uphill, downhill and sidehill lies and nice greens. The back nine does play slow with people looking for their balls in the rough and hazards, with its narrow fairways. Overall the course is worth playing to help sharpen your golf game and for the money.
Difficult
This is a very difficult course, many water hazards, wind, and fast hard to read greens not to mention uneven lies. Most suitable for a single digit handicap from the middle tees. Beautiful location though, we saw deer and a fox roaming the fairways.
Nice course and challenge for an excellent price
Course was in good shape, a little wet on some holes though. The people are very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was very nice for a Holiday. The only issue we teed off late because they did not have carts for 3 twosomes. I lke the course and had a very good time.
