6+ hours = way too long
Played this course on a Saturday morning. Booked the tee time on GolfNow at 9:32AM. When I got to the course I was told I had the 9:40 tee time, which wasn't a big deal. However, we didn't tee off until 10AM, 28 minutes than the purchased tee time. Then once we actually got onto the course we proceeded to wait 5-10 minutes between each and every shot. Apparently, there was a 4 group tournament in front of us that was not asked to increase their pace of play. Took 3 hours to play the first 9 holes and another 3 hours to finish out the 18 holes. I saw multiple groups quit during the middle of the round (including the two-some we were paired up with) because they couldn't spend the full 6 hours it was going to take to finish the round.
There are signs all over the course promoting the "Pace of Play" program. None of these rules were applied to the tournament groups ahead of us. The course is challenging and was in good condition (fairways were a little wet in spots due to recent rain) but I don't think there is any way I will play it again unless I hear that they have started taking the pace of play policy a little more seriously.
Be prepared to spend half your day on the golf course if you play here.
Good value, tough first time around.
The course was in good condition. I found the greens tricky to read, but that is not a fault of the course. You'll see some narrow landing areas, so not good if you spray it off the tee. I plan to play this course again when I straighten out my drives.
A nice course with beautiful natural settings.
A good course but was slightly bordered by the "slow play" of the group in front. It took us (3 players) to play this course for 4 1/2 hours.
beautiful view and nice golf layout, the sandtrap needs a lot of work . no sand left due to storm damage. convenient location for a challenging course
The value is great if you book with Golfnow or Golfzing. the only drawback is that most discount tee time offered around 11:50 to 12:30 pm , which make it tough to finish the round.
The view is spectacular and enjoyable worth the green fee and the course will challenge your arsenal of shot making, theres dogleg right and left. few blind shots, putting greens are superfast in summer and hardly any flat putting surface. So reading the greens is really really tough. If your not physically fit , i'll advise that you use a golfcart, this course is tough to walk.
Everytime Challenging
I like this course for challenging and improve your golf skill
Good Luck
Very good overall
Somehow, the course allows 5-some at certain intervals. It slows down the pace considerably sometime. They really shouldn't do that, or course ambassador should enforce the pace, either pushing them play quicker, or let the group behind pass.
Hilly with lots of slope on the greens and fluffy roughs
No flat lies anywhere on the course except for the tee boxes. some tough pin placements can be had. we had to skip a hole to go in front of a slow group which had 2 open holes in front of them. could use a roaming marshal to keep the group moving or let faster groups thru.
Nice course with promotion price
Been there many times, like it, green is tough but fun.
good challenging course/price very fair
fairways and greens in very good codition
will play again next week, good putting and shot making challenge
Slow pace but nice course. Late tee times beware!
I booked this place on a hot deal for 24 buck out the door with cart. The pace of play was very slow without a Marshall in sight. I didn't care because I was hitting three or four balls on every hole. Take the pace of play under consideration if you are booking a late tee time because the pace might be over 6 hours for 18. The course was groomed decent with some very hard surfaces but it's decent for the most part. The greens play slower than most so make sure you roll the ball with enough power. I will definitely come back but only for practice because playing one ball might get a bit frustrating while waiting at every hole.
Fun course, picture does not do it justice.
Have played this course twice now and can't wait to go back. The back nine was a good challenge for me because the fairways are pretty narrow. Played much better the second time with a little course knowledge.
Not long but tough
The course is well maintained and is beautiful on top of the Milpitas hills. I enjoyed the pace of play, but the slope of the course will challenge any amateur golfer. The greens roll true, and staying below the hole would be beneficial. Many golfers will score better by taking a hybrid or wood off many of the short par 4 tees. The course provides an overall enjoyable round.
Pace of Play
It is a nice course and a good value but our place of play on a Saturday morning was horrid. I would expect the time to play would take no more than 3.5 hours when you tee off before 7 in the morning, but it took just over 5 hours. I cannot imagine how long it took during the afternoon. The Marshall came by a few times but did not inform the two groups ahead of us (who were only threesomes) to pick up the play. When they are hitting 2-3 drives per person on numerous holes, it tends to really hold up the crowd.
Challenging hilly course with slow pace of play
This is a challenging hilly course. You will rarely get a flat lie. The front 9 is fairly forgiving but the back 9 is narrow and requires an accurate tee shot. You will be better off laying up with a 3 wood in the back 9. Some of the greens are extremely challenging. You'll be lucky to get a 3 putt if you land above the hole. I've played this track about 6 times and every time the pace of play is really slow on the weekends. It's always backed up on 3, 4 and 5 and I expect a 5 hour round.
Good course
I'm not really a fan of Summit Point, but it is great practice for your short game, with challenging greens.
Very Challenging
The course has some amazing views. It is well kept. However, I feel that it plays a lot tougher than the score card reads. Lots of uphills and rolling hills left to right.
Great views, challenging, but playable - lots of fun
staff was lazy, course was great. It had great scenery, Ill definitely be going back
Very challenging
The course was well maintained and very playable. If you have ever been to summit, you expect to be punished for good shots. It's a very challenging course with extremely difficult greens. Our round took a whole as it normally does but was good for the price.
Tough course with beautiful views.
I have a love hate relationship with Summitpointe. I love the specials that they put on golf now. You can't beat 23.00 with a cart. The staff was very friendly and the guy let us go out earlier than what our tee time was. Very cool. On the other hand the course isn't so friendly. While it is well maintained, if you aren't an experienced golfer (I'm about a 13 handicapper) this course will play very difficult. You will encounter lots of uneven lies. Even on good drives, you will still get uneven lies a majority of the time. Very frustrating!! The greens are well maintained and challenging. The course overall is in great shape. The pace of play was very good, which is always appreciated. There are also a couple of holes where you get really nice views (After you putt out on #2, make sure and take the view in). I would recommend this course for the experienced golfer. If you have trouble hitting from uneven lies, don't come here, you will not have any fun.
FUN BUT FRUSTRATING
This course has some great holes and then it has holes that punish a great drive with fairways that slope drastically to the right or left. The views are spectacular and the staff is very friendly.
