This course is grew to work on all aspects
I like this course, it is the best value in golf in the Bay Area.
Too slow. 5 Hours & 20 minutes.
Challenging but fun layout. Too slow. 5 Hours & 20 minutes. Hydraulic oil on greens.
Fair test of golf with some funky slopes and beautiful views
Overall a nice course that offers some real challenges. Fairways are often sloped and you need to stay high on the fairway and hope your ball ends up somewhere in the middle.
A couple of drive that are blind shots makes its interesting.
Several steep downhill and uphill holes.
Greens were slow and a bit furry but heavily sloped so downhill puts run and run and run.
TRY TO PLAY WITH A LOCAL WHO CAN PROVIDE LOCAL KNOWLEDGE.
I'm glad I played and might return.
Amazing views & course. Impossible Greens.
Summitpointe is a tremendous value for a weekday. Amazing views of the bay from the hills in Milpitas. Fun, challenging tee boxes and fairways. But the Greens are beyond ridiculous. Our 4-some average 4-5 putts each per green - far too difficult for a course of this level. Detracted from my enjoyment of the course.
Pace of Play
Was behind a 4some hacking away and the pace of play was terrible- called the marshal at Hole 5 but he did not appear till Hole 9 - we (2some) were allowed to play through on the 9th hole and after that was fine.
windy... hilly... narrow fairway... real test of your skill
It is short but quite challenging. It is a good course to test your consistency but NOT long drive....
Awful layout!!
It's hard to beat the price ($30 with a cart after 2pm) but itshonestly not even worth it. There is not a single flat lie on the entire course. to make matters worse its nearly impossible to read any of the greens because they're built on the side of the mountain. There are 6 or 7 holes that overlap so you're constantly being hit into and having to wait for hacks on another hole who accidentally hit into your fairway. It took me over 5 & 1/2 hrs to play on a Friday afternoon and I never once saw a Marshall out there trying to speed up the pace of play. I will NEVER go back.
Very Challenging for mid to high handicapper
I was told that Summitpoint was tight and hilly. WAS IT EVER!!!! Lucky I had a bunch of found "orphan" balls in my bag, haha. Course was in good shape, and was a great value. Beautiful views of the southbay from the high points. It was very windy which hurt my game even more. My first time here was enjoyable tho a little frustrating. I will try it again now that i have seen some of the nuances.
These greens are difficult
Pace of play is horrible, took over 5 hrs for 18 holes. For the rest nice challenging course with very difficult to read greens.
Partial aeration
The course recently aerated the greens and they perform a partial aeration, not the entire green complex. I wonder if that can be communicated before booking? Thank you.
Good shape, greens are being aerated but half a green at a time is smart. You must hit to flag and that part of green is fine .
Summit was aerating their greens but they were smart to aerate only half a green at a time allowing golfers to hit at the flag on the part of the green that is not being aerated. Overall greens were slower than I like and remember but I think this is because of the aerating and no mowing until aerating is complete.
Good course
It's a little tough with almost no flat fairway with some wind since it's up on the mountain
But, the course is well maintained and the view is superb.
Weel watered & maintained Fairways & Greens
Nice carpet in the fairways, greens are like velvet, our round took less than 4 hours. Great value for the money.
very good
It played way too slow however we had alot of fun otherwise
averege
green is so hard to putt. Hole are very unusual place . sometimes the location of the greens are sideways. if your golf ball landed at the top of he green and if you miss the hole , the ball will continue rolling down to the bottom sometimes out of the green therefore ball placement is important but who can predict the location of your golf balls in every shots.
Nice course, good value, need field marshal
I really enjoy the course but there is no oversight of slow golfers who show little if any golf etiquette. Seems like local inexperienced golfers just think they are the only ones out there and it is a joy walk rather than golf. This is a shame because I think the course caters to them and just allows it to the detriment of others. They actually have a starter and that's the last staff person you see until you finish 5 hours l3ater.
Challenger
Beautiful course! Really tough, i think that is reflected in the price.
I will play it again!
They plugged and sanded the greens today:(
My friend and I had a great time on this difficult course. Putting was tough today? We're going to have a tourney there in May! We'll have breakfast there too!
A good challenging course for beginners.
Overall, I like this course and will definitely play again with my family and friends.
We actually played on Monday April 8th, not the 7th.
In other reviews, I see, the correct spelling is "Average".
Tee it high, and let it fly !
