Rancho Solano Golf Course

This is a great golf course and in great condition in August 2025. The fairways are wide and forgiving, bordered by beautiful trees that can interfere with wayward shots.

The greens are large and receptive. Do your best to stay below the hole. The greens are heavily sloped and downhill putts can run well past the pin and off the green in some cases.

Waited on each tee. Two or three groups on each hole. Left the property after11 holes. 3 1/2 hrs.

The course is nice, better conditions than others around the area. But pace is always slow! Today, a Marshall came up to us, thinking we were the one holding everyone up, when it was the foursome ahead of us that’s taking their sweet time hitting multiple shots. I told the Marshall that the people ahead of us is slow, and instead of addressing this, which was one of the Marshall’s responsibility, he said to me “ WELL THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO ABOUT THAT, THEYRE PLAYING THEIR GAME” I have been to so much courses, I just don’t use GolfNow all the time, and this was the worse experience from a Marshall.

Rancho is a wonderful course no question about it. I say that with guarded pause. The staff I encountered were professional and I have nothing but praise for them. However the other golfers were straight up unprofessional. They were younger players whose self entitlement has turned this place into a battle of wills. I was hit into intentionally about 5 times. I was not out of position nor did they yell fore. I addressed it with them but they didn’t care. In my opinion they believe that this is their own private club and that outsiders are going to be treated accordingly so that they can deter them from returning. If this culture is condoned by the club then there’s a problem. This is a public course that relies on outside revenue to maintain the course at the high standards set. I have played golf for over 40 years and have seen changes but the lack of respect has leeched into the game. So as much as I love this course….. I’m going to keep playing it cuz nobody will ever intimidate me on or off the course.

Awesome condition with tough pin placements on slope

Some fairways have spotty brown hard, dry grounds so the irons would not go under the ball. Some iron shots bounced off the ground and bladed my approach shot as a result

Play here frequently as I’m a local the common issue is pace of play

There was a group that was holding everyone back driving their carts up to the greens to put and turned into a group of six at the back nine finally half way through the back nine the Marshall saw it and fixed the pace of play however if it would be more routine it would greatly help pace of play there has been on 2 occasions I haven’t been able to finish a full 18 in under 5.5 hours because of how terrible pace of play

Great course but only a bit on higher price for senior citizens

Course in great shape! Always fun to play. Can’t wait to go back!

This course has really gone downhill. It used to be one of my favorites. Seems like all they do anymore is send out as many leagues as possible with zero regard for pace of play. The course condition itself was superb but the pace of play ruined the round. It took nearly 4 hours to complete 9 holes. Quit playing after 9 holes due to pace of play.
