River View Golf Course
About
Situated within the Santa Ana Riverbed, River View Golf Course is conveniently located just minutes from Disneyland, Anaheim, and Long Beach. The course's design intertwines with the river, providing challenging hazards on several holes. The narrow layout also features elevated greens that rarely offer a flat lie and are fiercely guarded by sand. Accuracy is a necessity throughout this golf course. Although it offers a fair amount of challenges, there is also ample room off the tees that makes the course more accessible for beginners. River View G.C. is also popular for its practice facilities, which include a driving range with targets and the county's largest putting course. While the other facilities may be modest, River View offers an affordable game that is one of Orange County's best values.

Pace of play is very bad. Course is in rough shape overall especially tee boxes. Greens are actually in great shape.
Fun course at right price
Fun course in Santa Ana, CA. Short but we’ll maintained with lots of challenges along the way. Greens are true and some long par 4. Not much elevation, but some very narrow fairways that make you command control, or bring extra balls.
Tough play...Trouble if you let it get in you head
I played well but missed many birdie putts...shot 82.
Almost aced the 18th.got Bird...
Not bad
Maybe add a Marshall to keep up the pace of play. Groiups not keeping up and hitting mulligans?!??!?
Improved
This course used to be one of my least favorites. They have since upgraded the golf carts, fairways and rough and much more consistent and green. The greens have a little bit more ball marks then I would like but I know only so much can be done if golfers don’t take care of them. The only really thing that sucks is that the layout is quite funky and not very easy to figure out the first few times you play there.
Maybe if you are a local. But traveling 50 miles…
Ok so, this course shouldn’t be that tough. But, it is. The river bed makes this place a target golfers dream. Not a lot of room for error. If you are a hacker don’t play here you will lose balls and be frustrated by the set up. The greens are nice and roll really well. If you are a local and this is your best option by proximity. Fine! But do not. I repeat do not travel to play this course. We played behind a twosome whom were playing multiple balls and losing them and then trying to find them and we even asked to play through and they blamed the slow play on the foursome in front of them and they were playing slow but these two were awful. It ended up being a close to 5 hr round and we left at 16. Play at your own risk. Practice facility at this course is really really nice though. Use it.
Laid back fun golf course
I like this course because of its relaxed atmosphere. It’s a fun little course with all reachable par fives. The fairways are not well maintained but the greens are in very good shape. At under $50 green fee, it’s a course you can chase your personal best score.
