revisit after many year
The course is in great shape and the greens are adventuresome. Wonderful experience.
Large fast greens
The UGA course is a delightful test of golf skills, particularly putting. The course is in great shape.
Nowhere near worth the money
The course fees were quite overpriced for the overall offering. There is no GPS on the golf carts, you must pay a hefty additional fee for range balls to warm up, there was not a single cart girl/guy on the course during the ENTIRE round on an 85+ degree day, and the combined green fee and cart fee were quite high, especially for a GolfNow special.
Beautiful Track
Played the Dog tees and they will test your driver and long irons. Course was in great shape and everything was rolling true. The greens were running about 11 on the stemp which was awesome. This course is one everyone should experience
What A Time
It was exactly what you would expect. We are Dawg fan's at my house so when my friend and I decided to go to a course named UGA we expected a lot. It was great, I recommend you go and play this course. The greens were rolling eleven if not faster, the wind was in play, it was great.
Good layout, greens were in great condition
I really like this course. Pretty wide fairways, tough approaches, pretty hilly, and fast undulating greens.
Must Play
The course is in excellent condition. From the fairways to the tee boxes, Greens are smooth and quick. You have to put the ball on the right tier to score well.
A track worth playing
The weather was fantastic and the course was in very good condition. Being August, the bent grass greens were in pretty good shape and they rolled true. It is a fairly open layout but some of the longer par 3's add enough bite to where it's not easy. A lot of the holes will offer birdie opportunities but some are tough and par is a good score. Overall, I liked this course and the fast pace of play. I will definitely play here again.
Always wanted to play here
The course is fairly wide open. The most challenging part of this course is the greens. Three putts are very possible if you don't find the green on the correct level. Go Dawgs!
Overall good
great condition of green.
Also, Near Athens, no GC can comparable to this course. Strongly recommend to everybody who want to play with your visitor.
You're gonna like this course
This is one of the best public courses you're going to find. Truly a challenge from the back tees. Tree lined fairways that offer big demand from your driver. If you're crooked, you're going to run up your numbers. Greens were a little slow to my liking and I would say they were running around 7 on the stimp. But, I think that's because it's early August and very hot so they're keeping them a bit shaggy so the grass stays healthy.
Top Notch
Recently played the TPC Scottsdale and the UGA course held its own in comparison. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in excellent condition. I will be making the 90 minute drive again to play. GREAT FACILITY...
Terrific conditions.
This is first time I played here since they did significant refurbishing. The course was almost perfect. Only issue was a 3 some ahead of us who played extremely slow and would not let us, a 3 some, play through.
Great course
Great challenge. Well maintained. Not an easy course but a lot of fun!
Home of the Dawgs!!!
Exceptional, but difficult greens; fast with lots of contour.
Fun, but demanding course in excellent condition, especially with the fast greens and occasionally severe contours. Lots of elevation changes with some very scenic par 3s. Overall a good mix of holes/various doglegs. Most holes fairly open, so no need to leave the driver in the bag. About the only "negative" I have is that several of the Par 4s are of similar distance, at least from the silver tees.
My personal favorite
I play other courses in this area, but not often. The UGa GC is my favorite and my first choice.
It is or seems long and is very challenging with many elevation changes. It is not tricked out but offers a smart round of golf.
tough challenge
can't see most greens. very undulated and difficult. Don't be surprised All multi-level and sloping Good shot, wrong place, too bad. Lots of fun but need to know where to hit.
WOW........
Great track with almost a 50 year history of producing professional golfer for the University of Georgia! Tee complexes for all abilities and out of this world greens that require accurate approach shots. I played with someone that had played the course before so that really helped. I'm already planning my return!
big fan
As a lifelong UGA fan I've wanted to play here for a while. I wasn't disappointed. I had a great time and was pleasantly surprised by how fast the greens were. Although the grass was dormant the scenery was still very nice. Can't wait to play again in the summer.
my round at UGA
Had a great time at UGA would recommend this course to any one
Not sure what course you played. This was the last course I played in April before I had ankle surgery, and I paid around $34 plus $6 for range balls. I am not sure about the cart girls, but we had adequate water stations as we plowed through the course. This is a University course, and not a private/semi-private one you are used to in the Atlanta area. Yes, I used to live in the ATL too. I don't see GPS on most courses that I play, and I play some very nice and expensive courses sometimes. Most people use the apps on their phones so it is a waste of money for courses to invest in them. I thoroughly enjoyed this course, and I had not played it in almost 20 years( used to play all the time when I was a student). I think your expectations were way too high, and you need to try it again
