University of Georgia Golf Course

Overall very good condition. Some slow play but they eventually let us play through. Driving range is very nice and nice practice facility. Bent grass greens. One of the best public courses I've ever played.

A friend and I got a super deal at least me thought so and that is what really counted. The course was in superb shape and well manicured. We played 18 and noticed that they allowed walking. The both of us had a hard time with the greens but, it is because they were the best greens we have played this summer. Very fast and true to line. All the personnel were very welcoming. If you haven't played there I definitely suggest playing this course. Very challenging and great hole locations. It is a true test for your handicap. Definitely will play there again. Thanks again to the UGA course staff for your hospitality.

While we intended to play a Lake Oconee, GA course it was closed on Monday and we opted to drive up to Athens to play the UGA course. Very pleased we did! Course was a little wet from overnight rain but more than satisfied with the decision to play here from entering the parking lot until departing later in the day. It is a hilly track with great fairways, true rolling greens, and plenty of challenge. If you are in the area go play this course.

Let me first say I'm a die-hard Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket and I hesitated just to play a course with "UGA" in the title. However, I may now regret never trying this course earlier in life as this course is worth every penny, no matter what team you root for.

This is the home course for the UGA golf team and has hosted several web.com tour events so you know it's not you're typical muni course. Once you step onto the first tee box to the last green, you realize why some of the best golfers in the world come from UGA. Every tee box is flat and seemingly perfectly manicured. The fairways and rough are quite distinguished so being in the fairway is a premium. There was hardly a blade of grass that wasn't trimmed properly and the greens were definitely fast and rolled true. The course layout is a lot of fun with plenty of challenges and it doesn't favor any style of golfer. Working the ball both ways is the only way to go low here, but a straight ball will be just fine!

Be sure to take full advantage of the courses practice facilities as they are on par with any high level pro course, from the massive putting greens and extensive chipping green with multiple pin flags to hit to, to the well marked driving range that seemed to have grass that could rival most courses fairways. Don't let the name fool you, this is a pro course and I can't wait to come back and play here again!

The course was beautiful and in great condition.

I belong to and/or play all the courses in the area and UGA is hands down both the best course, the most challenging course, and the best value. Many strong holes, with beautiful rolling hills and in quite good condition. If you are anywhere close to Athens and love golf you you should make the effort to play this course.

I loved the course and the course conditions as well as the layout of the course. The overall condition of the course was great except it seemed as nobody for the prior two weeks never repaired a ball mark. There were big, deep, I repaired ball marks all over all the greens.

The worst part of the entire round was the starter sent me out with a father and his 10 year old son. After the second hole, I was ready to quit because the father had the son playing from the white tees. The child hit the ball AT THE MOST 50 yards off the tee box. I thought I was going to pull my hair out. The child was reading greens by crawling on the green even right near the hole. I had a horrible time because the round took nearly 5 hours all due to a father and his 10 year old son who could not hit the ball at all and the father NEVER told his son to stop crawling on the greens. AWFUL,!! If I ever get asked to go out again with such a pair, I will promptly go back to the pro shop and ask for my money back then go to a different course.

Very hot the day we played bur the greens were holding quite well. Several of the greens had been punched, I guess because of the extreme heat. The staff were super.

Fun but challenging. I am a Dawg; therefore, I may be biased; however, I loved the course. Got my first par on #12 45 years ago.

Play of pace was slow but only because of the two gents i played with. Green were a lot softer than a month ago but had some greens that were not consistent. Overall, it is a great coarse for the money.

I finally got a chance to play this course. Greens are exseptional, tee boxes and fairways are preasure to play on. Definitely coming back.

First time playing at UGA...very impressed with course overall, fairways were awesome...greens are in excellent shape...very FAST and DIFFICULT! given the heat, should have more water coolers with cold water...no cart service and limited options at clubhouse...speed could have been better, had a 3s in front of us walking on saturday morning...would suggest they avoid that...

Loved the layout, phenomenal greens

Played here during Masters week and the rate was good for the course. The layout is fun with elevation changes and plenty of water to work around. The practice facility is nice and allows for full shot practice. Note: There is no beer sold on the course or in the snack area.

Very good experience at UGA golf course from check-in to final hole. Course in good shape, greens running true, fairways a little damp in places and somewhat chunked up but overall a fine golf course well worth the green fee.

Booked a hotdeal for a single early sunday morning. The pace of play was good considering we went off around 9am, but apparently the course does tend to back up on the weekend afternoons. The course was great, they have hosted web.com events, and the course is just as good as any top private course in Atlanta. I would like to get back over there in a few weeks, as the greens were punched in early march, so they were still trying to heal. Rest of the course was in great shape, and the staff, started and pro's were friendly.

I waited for the twilight rate and for that it was a great value, the greens had just been punched but not bad all things considered. This a beautiful course with lots of undulation and elevation changes tee to green. Very fun to play, pick your tees wisely because the "Bulldog" tees are all the challenge you could want and more.

Since the redo a few years ago this is a really nice course to play. Only complaint it is a little pricey now and can only place with a GolfNow Hotlist round. Wish they had a better senior rate so I could play more often.

Wonderful layout. This is a can't miss course if you get a chance to play it. Has the length to challenge any game and the greens to keep you honest. Most holes have a wide open feel from the tee since the fairways are wide. Large greens guarded by semi deep bunkers with multiple levels on each green. Greens rolled smooth and quick with subtle breaks not easy too read. Every hole has elevation changes from tee to fairway and then to green. Nickname is Augusta National West and is well deserved. I've only walked AGS National from outside the ropes but there are many similarities in the course design and green complexes. Great par 3's, strong 400+ yard par 4's and get-able par 5's if you don't try and get greedy. Only gave conditions 4 stars since the grass dormant right now. I can only imagine how great this course is in the summer. Bunker sand was firm and consistent.

Big greens with a lot of slope, If you got the guts play from the back tees. A real beast of a gem. Play it you won't regret.
