Charlie Yates G C
This is a great course to work on your game, the location is good and the staff is very friendly.
This course is great for a tune up.
Iplay Charlie when my short game needs a tuneup. That is waht I got yesterday. Since I would being alone I finished in 1hour and 15 minutes.
LOVE THE COURSE!!!!
Great fun!
My first time at this course, I also brought a friend who had never played before that day, it was a great round, I will tell my other friends.
Don't expect a fast round
Course is in decent condition with a good mix of easy and more difficult par 3's/short par 4's. My issue is with the pace of play. There was a foursome of ladies holding everyone up, with nobody in front of them, and they would not let anyone of the singles or twosomes behind play through. The marshal informed my group that we should be patient and that most likely nobody was going to play through the foursome of ladies. If Monday evening is not a good time for a single to play, then when is? I normally wouldn't attribute the stubbornness and egos of the ladies to the course, but allegedly one of the ladies was a manager at the course. She should know more than anyone to let faster people through. Extremely disappointed. Why have a marshal if he can't tell people to speed up or let players through?
Great course for monet
Great for 8 quality holes! Greens are in good shape. Nice elevation changes
Always a great time at Charlie
This course is close to my house and when I have a tight schedule and still want to play or I need to would on my short game and control this is the place I go. The course is typically in good condition since its cart path only and well maintained. The pace of play can be iffy since it can be pretty backed up in peak hours but normally it's no more than about 1h45m to play. This round was only 1h10m.
Nice short course
A nice short par 30 course. Greens were nice as well as the tee boxes. The driving range is under construction but looks like it will be very nice when completed. I would definitely play there again.
Perfect for practice
I was extremely impressed with this course. If you want something short to practice with your irons this is the course. There's water, trees, greens surrounded by bunkers, elevated greens and elevated tees.
It's not worth paying full price but if you get a good deal or even a Hot deal, and would rather pay $10 to play instead of a bucket of balls at the range ... this is the course for you.
play from the back tees to add a little length though
Charlie Yates Golf Course
I always use golfnow to book my tee times and I had seen this course many times at a nice price but had passed over it, choosing to play courses that I was more familiar with. One day after work on a sunday I wanted to play and came across it again and decided to book it. I am glad I did, it is a great course and very well maintained. It is a short course but great for practice using your irons. You get a chance to use use different clubs and the greens are really nice. I have now added this course to my practice list.
Hot deal
$5 for 9 holes with a cart, can't be beat. Greens are a little beat up, fairway, tee boxes were in pretty good shape. Friendly staff
Two thumbs up
Disclaimer - I played for the first time using a hot deal so I paid less than $10 to play but so it was a great deal. It would be hard for me to pay more than $25 on an afternoon since it's only 9 holes but if you can get in around $20, it's totally worth playing.
It's an executive course so it's very short so it's great iron practice. I would recommend playing from the back tees for a little added challenge as one or two of the par 3s are super short. One is 77 yards from the whites and down hill... Or if you're playing through twice, play from the whites on the front 9 and then the back tees on the back 9 so you'll have some different looks at the hole. This is the one time I wouldn't be annoyed with someone playing from the back tees.
The staff was very friendly and very helpful which was nice since it was my first time playing here.
The course is in really good shape with a few blemishes on a few greens (only on the edges) but the fairways are in good shape on the par 4s.
The only negative is the practice green is outside of the course and across the street so make sure you plan accordingly. And the practice range was super packed so I wasn't able to hit any beforehand but not a big deal.
Great course and would recommend and will definitely be playing often. Especially if I can keep playing the hot deals!
Accessable Executive Course
Cool track when you don't have the time for 18 holes.
Charlie Yates is beautifully maintained.
Always a pleasure to play at Charlie Yates! The staff is friendly, and when you play a second round of 9 holes, you only have to pay $10 each for the next round.
What a Deal!
Really $8.99. I thought it was a joke. One of the nicest and most interesting 9 hole courses I have played.
Most Attractive In-Town Course
Greens and Tee boxes were in great shape for the ATL summer heat.
Keep it straight
This is primarily a par 3 course. Many of the fairways are tree-lined, so coming off the tee you need to keep it straight. Some of the greens are elevated with some undulations. Overall a decent course, maybe walked or rode. For the money I'd come back if I wanted to get a quick 9 in.
Pretty good
I didn't realize it was a par 30 course but the holes were all very well maintained with pretty good hole placements. I didn't try any food but the course was fun if you're looking for 9 short holes (one hole was 77 yards). Overall, a good experience though
Great place to play when you only have 2Hours
well located, well maintained and friendly staff !
Great course for short game practice
Course in good shape, Great executive course for short game practice. Also nice practice facility. staff is always great.
Good 9 Hole Round
9 hole Par 3+ course with surprising amount of hole variability (water, sand, trees, etc) and elevation changes. 3 Par 4s were of varying lengths and difficulties. Greens were a little beat up and work was being done on most of the fringes, but course was in good shape otherwise. Pace of play was relatively slow, but OK for mid-afternoon on a holiday. Surprisingly good round of golf for an inside-the-perimeter course
