Temporary Greens
The course is in rough shape. Two temporary greens and very slow on the other 7.

Good 9 hole layout and I’ve played course about 5 times this year. Other than the known quality issues with their greens this season, which are improving as the season progresses, the course is playing in great condition. Greens on holes 7 and 9 were most impacted and had to be entirely resodded, so they are playing temp greens on those holes at the moment. Pace of play is ok with some congestion. Round was just over 2 hours.

Disappointed
The greens were like putting on concrete, super rough and bumpy. The tee boxes were awful too- divots everywhere. Considering this is supposedly linked to east lake made the round very disappointing because the course was not taken care of.

It needs TLC
This year greens are in bad condition. Normally that’s not the case. New grass arrived with me for my 8a tee time. You are putting on Temp Greens on 7 & 9, but 8 needs replacement too.
Not a fun as normal. I’ll be back, when the greens are in better condition.

Worst It's Ever Been. AVOID UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
I've played Charlie Yates countless times in the last decade. Just played it this past Friday afternoon, and it was in the absolute worst condition I've ever seen — for ANY public golf course in the Atlanta area. They need to fire the greenskeeper there because they've clearly made a costly mistake and sprayed many of the greens with the wrong chemical. The green on 7 almost pure dirt, and many of the other greens are pocked with disease or overgrown and rolling like putting on uneven shag carpet.
It's a disgrace. CY used to be known as a place where you could count on the greens being fantastically smooth and nice. It was what made the executive layout more palatable. Now paying full price there feels like pure robbery.
I hope they get it together, because otherwise, this place is an absolute joke now.

Avoid at all cost
Unplayable. Spent a bunch of money on the clubhouse and let the greens mold and die when they were just revamped less than two years ago. Extremely disappointing.

Greens…..are atrocious
I play at Charlie Yates all the time. I have no clue what happened to the greens, but it looks like something happened to them, and half of the greens were basically dirt/unplayable. There was no warning from the staff or the clubhouse, but the greens up until the end of May were amazing, and now they are so bad that I’m not sure it’s even worth playing. Disappointing, and I hope they get a solution working soon. Otherwise the layout and the course staff are fantastic.

Greens are patchy at best
Not a good value for how slow and patchy the greens are. For being a a short game course. The greens are in bad shape.

The greens were all dirt
I played this course 3 years ago and it was nice. Today, we played and the course conditions were terrible. The greens were mostly sand and dirt. It looked as if all the grass had died. The putting was ridiculous. The ranger also fussed at us for taking two shots into the fairway while we were waiting for a group ahead of us on the green. Didn’t really understand why he said anything to us. I would not play this course again because of the condition of the greens.

Greens are awful
When playing a course that is mostly par 3s you want the greens to be playable as half the round is putting. Virtually impossible to work on putting/get a true read on anything with the current conditions.

Not doing well
Greens we're sodded last year and the course was in fantastic shape, but the late winter killed a lot of the greens, some to a point where they're just dirt. People have been chipping on them making divots. The clubhouse is brand new and they have beer now, but the greens need attention. Grass range on the weekends isn't even worth it, no grass. Hopefully less kids will be out there because it's summer and the range have have a chance to grow back.

Frost Warning
Yates got hit really hard by the winter freeze. They've lost a few greens and tee boxes that had been renovated. It's sad because they've put so much money into the course and clubhouse and practice facilities. The conditions are not due to neglect--as at some other courses--they will get the grass to grow... eventually. Just don't be surprised at home many greens are dirt and duck grass. It may not be worth your money until they can bring everything back to Yates' usual standards.

Terrible greens.
Horrible horrible greens. Ball was so unpredictable putting. Jumping all over the place. Expensive for only 9 holes too.

Don’t play it !!!!!!!
To say that the greens and tee boxes are in bad shape would be a compliment. They are beyond belief BAD. A complete waste of money. $30 for nine with cart, $15 with cart still not a bargain.
