Forest Hills Golf Club
Good solid course. Winter conditions. I was paired up with some members. Greens very fast and rolled smooth. Fairways thin lies, grass not growing yet.
Forrest Hill GC
Very nice course and facilities. Great winter conditions. Greens rolling quick and difficult to putt which makes it more fun for me.
Good Course
The pace of play was slow .
It took over four and half hours to play .
Group in front playing from tips and were at best intermediary golfers .If a ranger were working, he could have sped them up.
We had three playing members tees and we waited on every hole.
Forrest Hills Jan 15
Course is in great shape for winter golf. Greens very fast and smooth, well struck shots held nicely. Second best green complexes in Augusta. Must play.
Wonderful golf day in December!
Great conditions and very smooth greens out there. Made my day!
Fun but challenging course
Very fun and challenging course. One of the best in Augusta
Favorite course in Augusta
This is my favorite course in Augusta. It is challenging but not because of extreme length, tricked up or blind shots or overuse of hazards. Bunkering, trees, mounds and contoured fairways and greens require good shot placement. The best part of the course is the greens because they are relatively small and contoured, necessitating a creative short game. This keeps the course exciting because there are so many interesting shots to play. The course is in great shape and has been every time that I have played. I would prefer the grass in the fairways to be a little bit higher but it's not a problem.
windy day on a decent course
courses in pretty good shape, greens were fast. Overall the course was nice layout was fair staff was friendly.
Beautiful Golf Course and a Good Price
Forest Hills is well maintained. The facilities are clean and the pro shop is well stocked with great stuff. Food was very good and they have an excellent menu for breakfast, lunch, and supper. The prices were affordable for everything. I highly recommend this golf course.
Long and wonderful
This a fun course to play. But be prepared that this course is a little longer than average for senior players. The fairways are great and the greens are in great shape. This is a public course, however, it is also the home course of a college team. Play is fast and the people there were very friendly and out going. My wife and I will definitely play here again.
Forest Hills
I played on an overcast Sunday afternoon after several days of rain. The course was overall in pretty good shape but did have some drainage issues in some spots. The greens are tough, and were breaking a pretty good amount even in the wetter conditions.
Loved it
Will play there more often now that the weather is changing.
Forest Hills Golf Cousr Review
Moved to Augusta from Atlanta nearly 8 months ago & so far this is closest to the top notch Public Atlanta courses I've played. Layout is okay, could use a bit more trouble spots (bunkers/water) to make course a bit more challenging. However course wins with conditions & putting greens. Tee boxes, fairways, sand traps stay in great shape & all putting greens are immaculate with hills & drops on every one making putting a tough challenge. I know there are many hidden gems here in Augusta to play I just haven't found them yet but until then, Forest Hills will definitely be my choice for a quick 18.
Best Deal in Augusta
Best public course for the money. Course is in great shape.
great course
I really enjoyed playing the course. As always it played well and we had a great time.
Really nice course
It was my first time playing this course and I definitely will return. The course seem to play its true distance. The greens was in pretty good shape.
GO4PAR
Overall a good experience. I expected the course conditions would be better since this is the home of Augusta State University. The back nine was in much better shape than the front nine.
Visiting friends
I have a friend with business in Augusta and flies in 4 or 5 times a year. We always play a round or two and have hit it at Forest Hills 10 - 15 times in the past 5 years. Yesterday was our first round this year and it surprised us. At best average and not what we expect at Forest Hills. Played Applewood and Fort Gordon and both were in much nicer condition for the end of May.
great course
Love this course, great challenge. The greens are very fast, with challenging hole positions.
Update
Conditions pretty dry and greens fast. Tee boxes a little beat up and bunkers were hard, not really sand but combination or dirt and sand. Well struck shots will hold greens but chipping is challenging.
