Butternut Creek Golf Course
About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

Fun Track
This course was just plain fun. Every hole was different and offered unique challenges and strategy. The views were spectacular. Greens and fairways were in decent shape. The bunkers have definitely seen better days but running a course can be financially challenging these days so you can’t have it all. Overall, a very enjoyable course. And the staff in pro shop were very friendly.
Super fun course
course was in really good condition. Has some par 4's that you can try to reach in one. My wife and I had the most fun of any course we have ever played. Views only added to the experience.
Great mountain course.
Great mountain course with nice views. Unfortunately it had rained the day before and it was cart path only which made the round a little longer and more challenging with hills. Overall it was a great day and a nice course.
Excellent Value
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The course layout covers a valley with elevated tee boxes and lovely views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You’re driver will love you for the long falling arcs into the well kept fairways. The creek running through the course forces decisions on laying up or trying to carry. The visual perspective can be very deceiving. Local knowledge is a huge advantage. For the accomplished golfer you can bet the tee boxes at the bottom of the valley going uphill will humble even the long ball hitters. It rained the day I played and the well kept greens were wet and slow. On a dry day I would expect they can be just as challenging and fun as the rest of the course. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was surprisingly low considering how well kept the course is. I will definitely return to this course. I would highly recommend it to all golfers of any level. Hit em long and straight!
Great course, amazing staff
I love this course. It’s beautiful, challenging and a blast to play. And I have yto say the staff are beyond friendly every time I’m there. We have a home in blue ridge and this is an easy drive. I strongly recommend this course to anyone up in the area. It’s awesome!
Water! No relief from the heat without available water!
It’s An Awesome Golf Course
It’s a very challenging course with steep elevational and gradient / slope changes which demands accurate play and good stamina since it was cart path today when we played. The course condition was fine except for the lack of sand in the bunkers.
