About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

First time on this course
I had a 10 am tee time. The course was well maintained. The regulars on the course were very friendly. The fairways were lush. The bent grass greens were in great condition. The pro shop staff was very friendly. The food in the Grill was very good. The waitress not so much. The cart guy was very rude. I will be back to play this course.
Very nice course
We played on a Monday morning. Overall a great round. Not too crowded so we started 30 min before tee time.. course in excellent Condition and quite pretty views. Mostly links layout. Lots of water hazards, fewer sand traps (it’s rare when I play 18 holes and never get in the sand). The greens were in excellent condition; a few had quite challenging slopes. Appreciate that the rough had been mowed so wasn’t crazy tough.
A few issues: No driving Range so limited warmup. Cooler on cart but no ice provided. A couple holes could have had better marking of distance to streams. Also grill was closed.

Like the title says. Great round as always. I love playing this course.
Great course
This a great course. The scenery is beautiful. The fairways and greens are fantastic. Good mixture of challenging holes and easier ones. The staff are friendly and courteous. Don't miss the grill upstairs for a cold one or food after the round. We play here every year when come to vacation.
Friendly staff very helpful with directions and course information on my first visit! Beautiful course we'll looked after. I will definitely be back next week!

Great Views
One of the most scenic courses I have played. Great views from almost every tee box. Course was in excellent shape with a few wet spots, 90 degree rule with carts. Greens were perfect medium speed. Very hilly most holes are up hill or down hill. Liked it a lot, very challenging.
Decent Public Course
Good Value, decent course and bring your lob wedge. Great staff.

Scott and staff do a great job on this little slice of heaven. Compact course with much elevation. Try the restaurant while you’re at it
