Butternut Creek Golf Course
About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

Great value
We come to Georgia every summer to play golf, this course is always a must. This year having lots of rain but course in great condition.
Beautiful Gem in the Mtns.
This is one of my all time favorite courses in Georgia. Beautiful and green. Staff is amazing. Cannot say enough about this place. Every time I come to the GA. Mountains I have to come here at least once - this week I went twice.
Interesting mountain golfing. Very manageable. Restaurant closed on Memorial Day..go figure? Friendly staff.
Challenging course
Great course with lots of challenging holes. Despite the rain this area has endured for the past six months the course was in good condition. The staff were friendly and the "19th hole" was excellent. Great place to have dinner after a round.
Nice layout
Loved the layout but it was still pretty wet from all the rain. Somewhat short course so I was hitting a lot of wedges into the greens with mud flying everywhere. Greens were sandy and shaggy. I played for free with a hot deal plus a reward so not bad for the money but probably won’t go back until greens are nicer.

Winter excursion on the course
Picked a cold day after some heavy rain to get some exercise on a wonderful tract. Played this course numerous times over the last 10 to 15 years; and had not been back for about 4 years. Some fairways on the low point of the course were a little wet in places, and some of the greens needed a little help; but overall a great layout, and those greens getting lots of sun were in great shape. The course provides golfers of all abilities a fair challenge, and on some holes you need to hit good shots. My wife loves the course and commented; " that she forgot how nice the layout was, and fair for a woman golfer."
Nice city course
Great weather and beautiful scenery but so many golfers all holes backed-up and round took over 4 hrs. However I plan to schedule another round.
Good Golf Day
Played course in less than 4 hrs. Course provided challenges and also some wide fairways on some holes.
Fun day.
Course conditions were fantastic they had a few burned out greens but overall it was a good play
