Butternut Creek Golf Course
About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

Course under going new irrgation they just today opened up the back nine. But coming from Florida it was a totally different and fun course.. staff very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the good times
Good mountain corse
This is a very good course when all 18 holes are playable. Unfortunately only 9 are currently able to be played and it will evidently be several more months before you can play all 18.
The staff always treat GolfNow players like they are not welcome!
Was not aware the back nine was closed, had to pay front nine twice.if I had known this in advance I would have played some where esle
Complaint
Only 9 of 18 holes were open for play. If GolfNow would would have provided an alert to this, I would not have booked this reservation. I would have booked a more convenient course and saved time and gas.
A fun roller coaster ride
Butternut is a very hilly course (especially if you are used to playing relatively flat courses!). The course was in very good condition; it was fun, challenging, and a real treat with the hills and valleys! I have played the course before but never know what to expect!
What you can expect: a friendly staff and a fun round!
Course Review
Excellent test of golf game. White tees are not real long, but the lay of land makes up for this. Fairways are beautiful. The views are spectacular. Greens are challenging. This place is worth a membership. Have recommended it to several of my friends.
Beautiful layout and scenic view
Beautiful layout and scenic views
Fairways and greens well kept
Friendly staff
Have played here 20 years and still my favorite
Up-to-date GPS carts with USB
Plans to upgrade irrigation is another testimony to
the consistent care of this course
If you lose a golf ball you have an opportunity to
purchase it back for .75 cents lol
Great Experience
It was a beautiful fall day and the course was in excellent shape. The greens rolled smoothly, the tees and fairways were in good shape and the leaves had been blown off the course.
Mountain Golf!
Beautiful course and the most friendly staff I've ever met. Every hole either drops severely or has an intimidating climb. Awesome challenge from the tips. Greens are true and fairways are in good shape. Highly recommend and will visit again next time I'm in blue ridge.
Great 3 1/2 hours of fun!
Friendly greeting in Pro shop. Only one group ahead of us before our tee time and we were there 30 minutes early. Beautiful cart equipped with GPS and everything else you could ask for. Great course condition. We will be back!
Butternut course great shape!
The Golf now deal of the year. $14 for green fees & cart for mid day tee time normally $30-37. Butternut great county operated course in Blairsville. Typical mountain (Goat) course hitting to lots of blind greens which were very slick! Conditions very good for entire course. Mgt declared “cart path” only which was not necessary. These courses drain quickly and dry out quickly. Only water I saw was in creeks, ponds & streams running through the course, no signs of wet fairways or surrounding areas. Delightful course despite over bearing greens mgt. over protective miscall. Typical government run course.
Clean air and very scenic!
The course is in great shape. If you have never played it— you should, you will not be disappointed.
Beautiful mountain layout with great views
I really enjoy playing this course. They have tee boxes for every type of golfer. The course is well maintained and challenging for all.
Great value and a mountain golf experience
I would recommend you play this course with and idea of what it is like to play up and down the hills TN NC and Ga. fun fun fun. Short on the card but plenty of Challenge on the course. The $$$ value very good. We will play again when in the area.
