Butternut Creek Golf Course
About
Mountain views can be found on all 18 holes at Butternut Creek Golf Course, located in north Georgia. Elevation changes, mounds and undulating greens are all part of the challenge on the Bill Watts-designed golf course. No two holes are alike and water comes into play on 13 holes. With four to six tee boxes on every hole, the golf course can play as short or as long as you like. Butternut Creek is owned and operated by the Union County Recreation Department.

Butternut Creek
Beautiful mountain course. Well maintained, some hidden shots due to 1950's design...kept the mountains mountains. Best public golf course within 75 miles. Great experience. johnt.
Beautiful course!
Course was perfect. Pleasant check-in. Teed off right on time and finished without any delays. We will be back soon.
Rainy but Fun Round
Beautiful greens. Some dynamic elevation changes. Lots of water and more water. Nice clubhouse. Will play again.
need course marshalls
this is the third time that we have decided to quit prior to completion of our round sue to slow play.
They allow "5-somes" and when we got to the 15th hole there were 3 of them ahead of us.
It was also the third time that they did not have any carts and we had to wait for carts to come in.
If they would put marshal's on the course; not allow "5- somes" and space the rounds better it would be a great course.
We now will drive 50 additional minutes to a course where the pace of play is reasonable.
Great course
The course and people running it are great. My favorite course in N. Ga.
Typical Mountain golf
Friendly staff and enjoyed mountain golf.
I would recommend to play once at here. I think this course is mostly for local players.
Awesome course and views!
This was my second time to play this course and it did not disappoint! Beautiful course with awesome views! One of my favorite things about this course is the GPS's on the golf carts! Highly recommend this course!
Great course
One of the nicest courses I have played. Course was in great shape.
I do not need or want a lecture from the staff at this or any other golf now course concerning what I may or not have paid verses what the membership has to pay to play.
Perfect Mountain Course
Fair, but challenging course with nice views. Serious elevation changes and some blind shots makes this course more difficult. GPS on cart helps identify problems you can't see ahead. Only drawback is they have 2 Porta-Potties rather than bathrooms, and they don't provide Styrofoam cups for water, though they provide ice and water--just bring your own cups. Excellent bargain when you use Golf Now--one day was $24 the other was $18, including cart.
Best course in area
Course is in great shape. Greens roll true and fast. Put uphill if you want a chance to score well as downhill putts are extremely fast. Short course but the elevation changes throughout will make you think. Fairways are large and well manicured so if you hit a straight ball you will have no problems. Enjoy your round. You will return again and again.
A lot of up and down hill
Course was in great shape, but The hills were a killer!
Great Course!
Could not have asked for a more perfect day. The greens are starting to roll quick, and the fairways are magnificent.
Really nice course.
Nice course, first class in the area. Needs a driving range for warmup.
