Great Course
Chaple Hills is still in good condition. I used to have a membership when it was Canangate. It early in the season so the Fairways need to grow in
The greens were fast. The pin placement tricky. Overall it was a great Easter. I had two of my regular golf buddies, and they also enjoyed the round. Thank You
THE GOOD & THE BAD
Upon arriving to the course I was not impressed at first to say the least. The bag-drop is non-existent and parking/getting to the clubhouse does not have the most direct approach. It has a lot of, "figure it out as you go" sort of feel... In regards to the course specifically, the greens are some of the best I have played on in GA but, the tee boxes in general need some work. On 8 & 13 there are designated areas with mats... seems more permanent than temporary. Overall pretty decent course.
Best course around
Chapel Hills in Douglasville is a premier golf course in the metro Atlanta area
Best greens, great layout a new owners are doing great
Our favorite course
Course was very challenging and fun!
Greens were rolling true and really fast. Fairways were well kept too. My main suggestion would be to fix tee boxes on almost all holes.
It's not a country club, it is a local regular club
I was excited to experience a country club quality of golf course. The staff did not know how to check me in with rental clubs. The rental clubs were dirty and old and charged me $80. that was a rip off.
The course was really in a bad shape. Tboxes were bare, dug in. Fairways were like a desert. Greens were decent.
Layout was good. I would not recommend this course to anyone who is expecting a good course to play.
First tome playing
After a good deal of rain this course was in good condition and the crews were out taking care of fairways which are now beginning to green up. Greens in good condition, great lay out and staff was wonderful. Range balls included in price which fro the Atlanta area is a real benefit. Nice practice area. I will play again. Beautiful area and safe place to play.
Extremely slow play. Driving range look like moon surface
5.5 hours to play on Sunday. No Marshall all day. At check in was told they may not have enough charged carts. Drivingly range looked like the moon surface. Craters everywhere.. would not go back
Disappointing
I get that it's still winter, but this course is in bad shape. More dirt than there is grass. The greens are alright except for the moon craters from unrepaired ball marks and giant scuffs from what I can imagine is people trying to do the moonwalk across the greens. As if that weren't enough, I'm fairly sure not a single person on this course rakes the bunkers when they are finished. They looked like the beach of Normandy on D Day.
Pace of play was a bone chilling 5 hours and change which I guess shouldn't be a surprise considering the above mentioned quality of folks playing here. Nobody cares if you are bad at golf, just don't be slow, and take care of the course.
Staff is friendly, that's about the only thing I can say that was a positive experience.
Good Greens - Winter Conditions
Course is in good shape for Winter conditions. Limited grass in tee boxes and # 10 tee box is closed, so it plays as a par 3 instead.
Ask the staff about #10 when you get there, no one told me the first time, and I sent one over some construction workers.
Hidden Gem
First time playing a couple days after a huge storm and course was in great shape. Bentgrass greens were fantastic shape. Good layout with lots of opportunity to score.
Average Joe
All Players,
Please pick your feet up when on the green. It scars the putting surface.
Repair your ball marks on the green. If you can’t find yours repair someone else’s.
Greens Keeper,
The new cut is good but the repaired location is rough .
Very good course
This was my first time playing this course. You better bring your "A" game, the greens are very challenging. I will play this course again! It was worth every penny!
One of my top 3 courses I like to play. Very nice place to play.
