About
Chicopee Woods Golf Course is a public, 27-hole layout in Gainesville. The course is tucked amongst the Appalachian foothills, giving it a scenic terrain of rolling hills. The holes are divided into three nines: the Village, the Mill, and the School, that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. Five sets of tees provide even more variety. The Village nine is the longest of the three and it's also the driest. There is only a small lake beside the second hole. That doesn't mean the golf course isn't challenging though, you'll still face several strategically placed bunkers. There are a few scattered trees but the course is mostly open and offers some room for error. In addition to the 27 holes, Chicopee Woods G.C. also has a driving range and chipping and putting greens.

Late and extremely slow
Teed off 25+ minutes past our original tee time. Three groups waiting to tee off on the first 5 holes. No help from pro shop or Marshall for pace of play. 5+ hour round

For the record I enjoy this place and I play here weekly.
Course is greening up. Greens are good but slow.
Two issues - pace of play was 5 hrs
Also - my On cart GPS course computer did not operate properly.

Fantastic green
I haven't played here since last fall, and I expected to be average quality. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that the green was in excellent condition and the fairway was in good condition as well. I played during the week but I expect weekends to be busy as usual. Overall, it was better than some of the private courses.

Best Value in North GA
I play this course almost every Wednesday. They have dumped money into it and it is a great value. The staff is extremely efficient and friendly. The practice areas and course conditions are great. They have 27 holes and each 9 plays pretty similar in difficulty. The only issue I would ever have there is pace of play on the weekends. It gets super crowded. I can’t recommend this place enough.
