Laurel Island Links
About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Father and son first time
Took my son out for his first round of golf. He told me he was having the best time he'd ever had. Because my son had never played golf before, he had no clubs. The PRO Shop was able to hook us up with a set so he could play his first round.
The grille is a quaint little place that really gives you that "clubhouse" feel, coupled with some pretty good food and friendly staff.
In summary, there isn't much a person can find that would ruin a day at the Links.
Solid Choice
Laurel is always a solid go to round whether it be weekday or weekend. Staff is always courteous especially in the grill room. Golf is always good. Very playable track that offers it’s own unique challenges.
Watch your backside
Love the course. Always in good shape. As a “seasoned” golfer I play the whites on the front and greens on “backside”. Hate hitting 3 woods or laying up on long par. 19th hole is good and people are friendly
Sunday play
Course was in pretty good shape. Greens were slow from morning dew but sped up later in the morning. Could use more drinking water stations on the course. It was hot and high humidity even at 0707 tee time. Overall a good time and round. Will go back in the future.
Nice Layout
My wife and I evacuated from Charleston during Hurricane Florence and played twice at Laurel Island Links. Nice layout. Fair condition. Friendly staff. Surprised that the course allowed fivesomes out on a Saturday morning. But, the pace was excellent.
Good Course
Disappointed in the availability of water to drink while in the course. Got a can of soda in the clubhouse before the round and it cost $2 plus tax. That's a bit ridiculous. Wouldn't advise buying drinks or food.
Always well kept
I always love laurel island along the marsh it's very peaceful and tranquil to play here. Course is well maintained and fast play today. Practice putting green could use a little help but course greens very good.
Mowers
Equipment operators would not stop and allow play to continue without the mowers running. Very distracting.
Excellent experience
It was my first time playing this course but certainly won’t be my last. Condition of the course was very good with one or two greens that needed some repair but for the price I had no issues. Layout was very fair but also challenged you unless you are a long hitter. The staff was extremely friendly from the desk in the club house to the wait staff in the restaurant which had very good food as well. This will definitely be one of my regular stops.
A fun day at Laurel Island Links
Despite the rain in the forecast, our group of 4 persisted & was rewarded with a wonderful time today at Laurel Island Links today. From Brunswick / Golden Isles, its an easy find east from I-95 driving south by taking Exit 6. From Jacksonville, its exit 4. The breeze & cloud cover made it comfortable much of the day. After a few minutes of sprinkling, the sun got pretty warm, but did not deter us. Water coolers are plentiful throughout the course. Golf shop employees were friendly & welcoming. Club house accommodations are well maintained. Pace of play was uneffected by groups in front of us. Laurel Island is one of our favorites & a frequent destination. It is a good value. GolfNow rates are a major part of that. Fairways were mowed well & greens are firm & in very good condition. A wide range of tee boxes cater to players of all levels. My guess is that the relatively rainy summer months have made refreshing bunkers with sand more difficult.
Fun track/bad cart paths
I always enjoy playing here but after being open 20+ years the course needs work. Front 9 fairways have been taken over by weeds but are playable, and the cart paths have been destroyed by the roots of growing trees. Back 9 fairways were good and the greens are in good shape. Several scenic holes make it worthwhile.
Play Here, you will not be disappointed.
Great, friendly staff. Course shows improvements every time I play here. Easy drive from Jax. Greens are spectular. I’m convinced this is the best course for a reasonable price.
Crab Grass Country Club
There was a time when this course was in excellent condition and fun to play. I hope you have memories of those days because you will never see them again. This course is so far gone you would need to start over to make it better. Crabgrass has taken over 90% of the course including tee boxes, fairways and around the greens. This is no longer a real golf course.
Play somewhere, anywhere else because they obviously don't care about golf at Laurel Island any longer.
Played Laurel island toay
They have had a lot of rain lately. Lost the ball in the rough a few times. Greens were a little slower than normal. Traps were hard from the rain. It's a fun layout. I will play there again.
