Laurel Island Links
About
The 18-hole Laurel Island Links in Kingsland, Georgia is a public golf course that opened in 1996. This design by PGA Tour player Davis Love III is quite remarkable. Laurel island resides on the banks of the vast Crooked River marsh that provides a stunning backdrop for holes two, three, and six.
The second nine roams inland working toward a secluded section of pine forest. The course is softly shaped and tinged in gentle southern atmosphere, opened in 1997. There is a light touch and quiet interaction with nature. You can play a beautiful, meditative golf at Laurel Island Links Laurel Island is approximately 25 minutes north of Jacksonville, FL. From Jacksonville take I-95 north to Georgia exit 6 and head east for two miles. Laurel Island Parkway will be on the left.

Nice Course
It rained heavily right before I teed off, but it was still playable. The greens were in very good shape. Many of the holes go along the marsh and are pretty. My only negative comment is that the course is fairly easy (from the blues). There att not many hazzards in play.
Top Shape Now
Played on 7/3/18. Best shape I have seen it in a long time. Greens are slow but in excellent condition. Tee boxes and rough are manicured. For $25, it is a steal. Play it soon, lots of rain last week did wonders.
Good experience
It had been a couple of years since I played Laurel Island but it won't be that long next time. The course is in very good shape, with greens looking healthy and rolling nicely, and fairways that very lush. it was a bit wet when we played, but hey, it's Southern Georgia in the summer time. It rains! Our mid-week round was done within three hours due to few other golfers and that included a pit stop/quick lunch at the turn. Playing from the white tees offered a relaxing and positive round; from the tips, Laurel Island can be a beast unless you are long-hitting course designer Davis Love III. Overall, a very positive golf experience.
We love this course . We live in Orange Park Fla. & Try to get up to Laurel Links as much as we can. The course & the people who work there are fantastic. We always have a great time.
Good course.
The course offers a wide range of tees depending on your skill set, very nice layout. The greens were recovering from maintenance but were still ok and true. Great course at a good value.
Verbally lied to about condition of greens and course
I called the pro shop the previous Friday morning and asked three questions before booking a tee time on Sunday: 1. Did they aerify. 2. condition of greens. 3. overall condition of course. I was told that they did not aerify and the condition of the greens were excellent and the overall condition of the course was very good. Having so many tee time openings in the morning made me a little skeptical but I reasoned that it was because of the last day of the TPC tournament. After checking in I noticed that the practice green was very brown and patchy. I was told that this was not indicative of the rest of the course and there has been a long period without rain. Does this course not have a sprinkler system? I think not because the fairways and tees lacked an important component, I call it GRASS! The greens were fair at best and that is being very generous. My biggest issue was being lied to on the phone. I had two friends from out of state with me and was completely embarrassed having told them that this was a good layout and in great condition per my phone call on Friday morning to the prop shop. If your looking to improve your play on hard pan fairways with very tight lies, sub par greens then book this course. Don't bother to inquire by phone about condition, you will just be lied to.
Soggy but nice!
The course took on a lot rain bit maintenance was really very good. Is it perfect? No. Is it in really good shape? Yes!
No Frills
We played this course because of the price. We haven’t played in over a year so we didn’t want to spend a lot of $$. It met that qualification. The range was okay and the course was nothing special but for the price it was good enough. Some of the greens rolled pretty nice but some were starting to burn out. Some tee boxes looked pretty bad too. The staff was nice and helpful.
Good course horrible practice favility
The course is not in bad shape but the putting green is terrible and the range is more divot than grass. This is not bad for a hot deal, but the course used to be better a year ago or so
Southern Georgia ‘s Little Gem
The course is in great shape. The greens read true. For first time vistors, the course handbook was very helpful in your approach to each green. We saw eight alligators, no issue as they were at a safe distant away.
Will definitely return.
