Monroe Golf & Country Club
About
Monroe Golf & Country Club sprawls across gently rolling hills blanketed with mature hardwood forests. Opened in 1957, the course has a classic design that is playable for all skill levels but will still provide a challenge. The golf course is mostly flat but there are some subtly tricky elevation changes that can be found throughout. Pristine white sand bunkers contrast beautifully with the green of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and towering trees line the fairways. The greens are fast and the rough can be punishing. It's a layout that demands accuracy but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper. In addition to the golf course, Monroe also offers a large practice putting green and a driving range with a bunker.

leave it in front of the barn
when we stopped by the square for chili and hot chocolate, the crowd was warm and convivial. we even got to feed the camel.
Nice course for the $
Nice course for the $. Enjoyed playing this course. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Greens are very fast
East Atlanta must go
This one is one of three courses I like in east Atlanta.
Fastest greens in Georgia!
We picked a near perfect day to play a great course. Tee boxes, fairways, greens & rough all very well maintained. Can't wait to go back.
This course is a good value
Fairways well maintained and the greens were fast and fun to putt. Our group really enjoyed ourselves.
greens rolled true and fast
most holes, tee to green, are in good shape. This was a very pleasurable round of golf with my son!
This is an old school Country Club expeirence!
This is one you gotta go play! Not real long, BUT! Real nice! Up down, left, right, undulations! Really makes you go through your bag. Greens were receptive and fast, not lightning, but fast. Great staff, very friendly locals we encountered while out playing as well as in the Club house. Overall in good condition, there were some areas of the rough that were a little penal for an open to the public course, but not crazy long just end of the week not mown quite yet rough. Very nice track and we paid $30 on GN on a Sunday! Yeah its a drive from Atlanta but trust me its worth it.
what a great course
It has been at least 9yrs since I've played here and I'm kicking myself for staying away. The course is in great shape, not a bad lie in the fairway and the rough was not as thick as a lot of courses I have been playing. The bent greens were in great shape and lightning fast. I will definitely make Monroe cc a regular game.
best golf value of my 45 years playing golf
I played on a Saturday afternoon while the bulldogs played against LSU, the course was empty, lucky me. I played 36 holes in less than four hours! Conditions were superb and the greens even better. The par fours are a little short, except for a 450 yd uphill monster, yet challenging. take the ride out, you won't be disappointed.
great cousre
Greens were perfect course very well maintained great driving holes, was first time there will be back had alot of fun
Great course for being right in the center of town
Nice course. Played by myself and course was not busy at all due to the rain. Will play again!
The course was in great shape
It rained so I'm not sure how fast the greens would have been but for a wet day they were fast. Hard to read due to rain but not as much turn as the read said when you sized up the put. Very well maintained fairways. I'll go back like I always have.
Nice layout with good variety of holes and some changes in elevation to keep it interesting.
Enjoyable course; not too long or difficult, but still a challenge for the average player. Very few forced carries or other major hazards. Landing areas are fairly generous, but put it in the rough, and you may struggle to reach the green in regulation. Overall in excellent condition, even the greens given the wet conditions that plagued much of GA over the summer. One of my favorites in the metro Atlanta area.
Fun course to play. Course is in good condition.
Overall the course is in good condition. The greens are somewhat sandy as it appears that they were recently aerated,
but they are very putt-able. The fairways are great, cut nicely.
Hole number 5 is a very difficult par 4; 436 yards from the white
tees with a very elevated green. This hole is unreachable in 2 for
most golfers, while the rest of the course is moderately challenging and fun to play.
This is a pretty course with wide fairways.
The course was fun to play. The fairways were wide and in good shape. The greens were aerated recently,so they need a week or so to get back to normal. I really enjoyed playing at the Monroe Golf and Country Club. The food was great and the bartender was very nice.
Great course with some challenging holes.
I really enjoyed playing this course. Was my first time and will not be my last. Course was in great shape, Staff was friendly value was tremendous. You will not be disappointing in this course.
Fairly open course with many elevated greens.
I've been playing this course for many years and right now it is in great shape. Never a bad lie in the fairways, rough is thick but not U.S.Open thick, and some of the quickest greens I've played this year. Will definitely be back.
Very Good course with many different styles of holes.
The greens & fairways were in good shape. The rough could be a little shorter to facilitate finding balls and speeding up the round. No drink cart on the day we played but there was plenty of drinking water available on the course and the turn brought you back to the clubhouse if you wanted drinks or a snack. I like the course a lot. .
beautiful old style course.
Nice track !! Not too long, but challenging . Greens rolling about a 12 . Lot of fun .
