Monroe Golf & Country Club
About
Monroe Golf & Country Club sprawls across gently rolling hills blanketed with mature hardwood forests. Opened in 1957, the course has a classic design that is playable for all skill levels but will still provide a challenge. The golf course is mostly flat but there are some subtly tricky elevation changes that can be found throughout. Pristine white sand bunkers contrast beautifully with the green of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and towering trees line the fairways. The greens are fast and the rough can be punishing. It's a layout that demands accuracy but it's not overly difficult for the high handicapper. In addition to the golf course, Monroe also offers a large practice putting green and a driving range with a bunker.

very good condition
The only thing that disappointed me was that there was only one water station on the course and it was warm and muggy. there were none on the front nine; two on back nine but one had water container removed.
Very good value
Appeared that greens had been aerated about 2 weeks prior, but did not pose any issues. Very fair course with moderate difficulty. Most difficult feature is the number of approach shots to elevated greens. Very enjoyable overall.
very nice course at a country club setting
The golf course was very scenic and moderately easy to play. The staff was very friendly and range balls were included in the price. I would definitely recommend this course to others and would love to play it again.
An old school golf club with rolling hills, large trees and unlimited range balls.
An old school private club turned semi-private with a full service clubhouse and pro shop, practice green, unlimited range balls and great people to make you feel right at home. The greens were recently aerated and top dressed the day we played the course. Otherwise, the course was well maintained and I suspect the greens will be sneaky fast and challenging soon enough and the course will rate four stars. The course was built over rolling hills with fairways lined and separated by large mature trees but with plenty of room to spray, find and play your ball. The greens have bunkers around them but are very receptive with room to miss and still be able to get up and down. The course layout is very player friendly and fun to play. We were already talking about a return trip when the greens are 100% before we even finished our round.
Great Course for the Price
The staff was great, took the time to show us around. The cousre is a nice layout and was a lot of fun to play. The greens where still bumpy from spring aeration but still rolled well, Fariways where in nice shape, Overall I was very impressed by the course and staff, I will be playing it again soon.
Great Greens
Pace of Play was 3 1/2 hours course was in good shape and the greens are some of the best around the area
Great greens
Course was in good shape - played after a mini tour event so greens were super fast but rolled very well. Will return for another round.
Greens are great.
Course was in great shape. The only issue was the 5some that was playing in front of us and refused to let us play through. They were obviously members. That's the only bad rap for playing here is the Members are not nice to the outsiders.
Fun round of golf....
Excellent semi-private country club in a cute town. Fairways feature a number of up and down stances. However, the fun starts once your on the greens. They were rolling well and have significant contours. I was lucky to play with some folks that were familiar with the track which helped a great deal.
Strongly recommend a trip to Monroe for a round.....you most likely will see me out there again!
An enjoyable day
Week maintained. Friendly staff. Excellent greens. Will definitely return to this course in the future.
Very slow pace of play. Had the best greens I have played.
It was very slow, but it was also the first nice weekend of the season so it is understandable. Would have been nice if there was a Marshall to keep the slow groups moving. The greens were some of the nicest I have played in Georgia. Can't wait to see the course in the summer when everything turns green again. Will be playing this course again.
This couse is very nice and challenging
The course is in very good condition. The clubhouse is very nice too and the personnel are very friendly.
Course has great greens.
The greens are in great shape, roll real nice.Other than damp areas the course is in great shape to play.
Great Winter Course
The course was in Great "Winter" condition. Very friendly staff. Top Notch
course in great shape, very playable
greens in great shape, course playable for all golfers, staff friendly and informative, not overcrowded on weekend
Friendly course but some long par 4's for some of us older folks.
I enjoy this course and the greens are always in great shape.
Pretty nice
Nothing spectacular though greens and fairways solid...lots of traffic and shots entering neighboring fairways especially back nine. Easy to walk and good if spraying drives off the box. Would play again tho too far to make drive from west of perimeter of ATL.
Excellent golf course with very friedly staff i would reccomend this course to everyone.
The course was in excellent shape for this time of year and the greens were very true. There were a couple of groups in front of us but they kept the pace for us to finish within 3.5 hours.
Great course
Great course and pace of play - greens were in excellent condition. Great staff as well
